I'm waiting for my new baby, and I know she's the kind of car to deserve a name. I've never named a car before and I need some inspiration. What have you named yours? Any suggestions?

And yeah, I think she's going to be a girl.

Pooky Junior got her name from GARFIELD THE CAT comic strip...Garfield's beloved teddy bear is named "Pooky."

Before I got my MINI, I owned a used Honda Civic I named Pooky and I promised myself that her replacement would bare the name too. Even my friends and family have gotten used to calling my both these cars Pooky...I kinda think it's cute.

I am a fan of irony and such and planned on renaming my Bronco at the same time. I also was thinking of hetting plates for it it I could.

Bronco = Tiny
Mini = Bigwun

My mini is still awaiting transport so I guess I need to wait to decide.

A few days after taking delivery, my MINI spoke out and demanded he be called by his rightful name; Mr.Motor. Who am I to argue with authority? :smile:

I found my Mini parked next to an Excursion one day and thought it looked buggish beside it.
I named him "Jim Mini Cricket".

I haven't even ordered mine yet and i already have a name picked out. I am naming her Ellie (short for Eleanor) because she is my Pegasus, my seemingly unattainable dream.

Ok, so it's not a Ford Shelby GT500 but it works for me.

I am Darksky
My MINI is my Rocket (we sit inside)
My cycle is a Torpedo (I ride on top of the Torp.)
Maybe it's goofy, but it makes me happy.

HOW did you get the Mona Lisa on your roof?!? It's great!

I was thinking I should find a name from the Beatles, like Abby for Abby Road, but here people think Abby means Abby-Normal from Young Frankenstein!

So then I remembered Jillybean from "Natural Magic," one of my favorite movies. Maybe Minibean? But that brings to mind Mr. Bean and as funny as he is it's the wrong connotation.

Wow, how do parents name their kids?

rocky raccoon, lovely rita, lucy...

My MCS will be named Madeline.

She's the little red headed girl with the straw hat in the story books!

"Madeline has been described as charming, impetuous, mischievous, and precocious. She may be the smallest of the 12 little girls, but she certainly is the feistiest. No doubt about it, Madeline is a gusty little girl. That's what makes her such a unique role model in a time when storybook princesses define femininity for girls. Madeline gives young girls the courage to speak their mind and shows them the there is nothing unfeminine about being smart and strong."

When I read that description of the story book character, I thought this is a MINI!

That's a great write-up of Madeleine! How perfect for the MINI!

And was Mr. Tumnus the one who gave Lucy tea when they first arrived in Narnia? I loved that series. "The Dawn Trader" was my fave. What was the mouse's name...

Wow.. I guess MINI people really ARE more creative than the average enthusiast.

As soon as I conceived the idea of buying a MINI I knew she would be all black, shiny and have a bad attitude....Thus I had only one choice, being the true Matrix movie fan that I am...Trinity is her name :smile:

The mouse's name was Reepicheep...small, but very brave and stylish. He would have loved the MINI.

Cat I totally agree with you there! My MINI is named Polythene Pam because she's so good looking but she looks like a man! I couldn't decide if the MINI was a girl or a boy, but I knew I wanted something british, then it dawnd on me, why not name her after a famous british drag queen?

My MINI remained nameless for a couple weeks until my friend pulled up next to me on the road. We had a small chat during the red light. Before I sped passed him he exclaimed "CIAO", At that moment, my MINI became a hot italian babe. So, I named her "Bella".

Your MINI will reveal her name to you. Although Reepicheek is rather clever!

Let's see... before I actually took delivery, I thought of Chibi-Car, Mini-Rocket, Cherry Bomb, and a few others, but I ended up deciding on Mach Four. Speed Racer's car is the Mach Five, and well, it would just be silly saying that my MINI is on par with the world's fastest car, so it's the Mach Four.... (and now I have Mach Four plates, Speed Racer plate holders, a "He's a Demon On Wheels" bumper sticker, and a custom 'M' shift ****... so you can say the that name really 'took'.. )

But don't sweat the name thing... it'll come to you one of these days...
