It appears it might be about 50/50....just a guess. I told the folks on my Chevelle webpage I was going to get a Mini and took a little flack. I own a 69 Malibu, neat car and I love it.
But, they just don't know what there're missing. I gave up riding motorcycles a few years ago and for my buck the Mini is the closest thing to a four wheeled motorcycle.

when i bought my MINI, i asked my dealer exactly who else was buying em, and he said *everybody* - old, young, male, female, whatever...
one thing i *have* noticed, though - i work for an entertainment company (disney), and there's like 5 MINI's in our parking structure...after work, i go to the gym, a fitness facility at the engineering company where my mom works - boeing. no MINI's. in fact, i think the cars in the disney parking structure are in general trendier than the cars in the boeing parking lot...
that's engineers for ya...

well you can't really use the professions of MCO members, cause who's more likely to participate in an online forum - a technical/science type, or a creative/artsy type? so the audience that this forum draws isn't necessarily a fair representative of the general MINI population.
as i said before, there's (at least) 5 MINI's in the disney cast member parking structure...out of those 5, 2 are from my department - the engineering dept...

Based on my perception of local demographics and club events (D/FW) , I'd have to say the percentages skews more towards the guys...maybe 60-40...maybe even 70-30. It seems there's more guy owners, but the lady-owners are definitely the coolest!
In the end, nobody really knows....except maybe BMW!

I don't know, who? It seems to me that we have lots of BOTH types on this board. I really don't want to start another "what's your profession" thread as that's been done before...but just off the top of my head I can think of a number of members who are graphic artists, designers, writers, musicians, furniture makers, and other creative/artsy types. Then I can also think of folks who are aeronautical engineers, environmental engineers, aerospace workers, networking/software professionals, chemists, and other technical/science types. So, I don't know...
But I do agree with your general point that the MCO membership isn't necessarily representative of MINI owners writ-large. We're much more interested in communicating our enthusiasm than non-MCO (or other board) members.

>>Seems about the same here in the south, I'm WOMAN, but the few Mini's here seem to be driven by guys. I'm also new to this board. Be kind, please
With a name like ittybitty, maybe it's good that you're a WOMAN too.
Welcome to the list. Which part of the south is home?

>>North Carolina. Ittybitty is my nickname, and it does fit! Thought about that for a license plate, but went with XS instead.
