R50/53 DSC, and tire pressure sense light on...
DSC, and tire pressure sense light on...
I tried resetting with the button under the brake, but it didn't do anything.
I pulled off the front tires to check the wiring because the engine was changed and the lights came on after the engine was swapped. I didn't see that the wires were disconnected. They looked fine.
I checked the DSC fuses.
I had previously disconnect the negative battery terminal to see if that resets it, but it didn't.
The pressure is fine, which shouldn't matter if I'm just trying to reset the tire sensor. If tire pressure is off then it would just trip it after, but not prevent it from reseting.
So the question is: What could cause both light to remain on, that will also disable the tire pressure reset button? Would it me something with the DSC system that causes both, or would it be something with the tire pressure sensor system that causes both lights to come on?

It is an 03 non-s with manual tranny. So could it be a big coincidence that it just happen to go bad when they changed the motor? Or maybe my friend was wrong and the light was on, hmmm. Is there a way to check the speed sensors and eliminate which ones are good? So if the speed sensor is bad then the switch to reset the tire pressure sense will be disabled also? I wonder if I can disconnect the battery to reset the ecu so I can see if that temporarily lets me reset the tire pressure light.
the DSC and tire pressure both use the wheels speed sensors.
you can go to an autozone or to a dealer and have them run the OBD scanner to find out exactly which sensor is acting up provided that it's only the sensor.
could also be the steering angle sensor... but then again that wouldnt affect the tire pressure monitor
hope it's not a bad harness

Mine turn on intermittently too... When they come on, I shut the car off and then restart. That usually clears it. Do a search on this subject matter. It's out there already.

Ok thanx, I will go to autozone to see what codes pop up. I imagine the obd plugs under the dash like most cars. It just seemed odd that the lights werent on before then after the engine swap, they are on. Before the engine swap the airbag light was on, now that light is off. I hope there isn't some mystery problem hehe. thanx again.

Wow, alignment issue. Did your car pull hard to a side? Mine goes straight just fine. So your had both lights on, tire pressure and dsc? But you reset switch should have still worked to reset the tire pressure or did it also stop that?
I have the same problem, except the ABS light comes on as well. It happens randomly (normally in damp or cold weather), and my OTC Genisys scan tool (in generic OBDII mode...I haven't picked up the euro car software yet...) won't pick up the ABS/DSC/TPM codes.
These systems are on separate modules than the EMS2000 (engine management module). So unfortunately, you need a scan tool capable of retrieving ABS/DSC/TPM codes from their respective modules. The scanners used at the autozones I've been to are simply generic OBDII scanners, so they probably won't pick up the codes. :(
I wish I could narrow it down without having to throw parts at it (wheel sensors, steering wheel angle sensors, etc), but I just can't afford the euro software for my scan tool at this time. :(
