Can some one help me? I am tracking my mini on the miniusa page and it is telling me that my estimated production date is 10/4. Does this mean that it will be delivered by then or does it mean that they will start building it on 10/4.

P.S This is a great site. Keep up the good work!

That is the Estimated Production Date. When your MINI is shipped, the tracking site changes and provides an Estimated Delivery Date. (My production date was right on, my delivery date doesn't look at all hopeful.)

So, where's this tracking page/link? I can't seem to find it from the MINI USA site, though if its in the Owners Lounge I don't have access (YET).

I put my $1k down back in June for an EBlue/S and would like to track it when (if) it enters production and gets put on a slow boat.

If you go to miniusa.com, click on the ownerslounge tab on the top and from there you sign in, if you don't have a username and password.sign up for one here. If you don't have a production # you can't get in but u should be getting one from your dealer (mine took 3 weeks to get one). Hope this helps you.

My production date was 8/9 (all production dates are Fridays it seems). My baby sailed on the Falstaff from SouthHampton on 8/12 and arrived in New York on 8/21 and was marked "Delivered" by the shipper on 8/22. It is still sitting on the dock. It has not been moved to the Vehicle Processing Center. On 8/12 was when the Production Date was replaced by the Delivery Date. Calling 1-866-ASK-MINI with your Production Number will get varied responses, but they still list my MINI as scheduled to be trucked to the Dealer on 8/30. I will soon go from anxious to agonized I fear. My faith in that delivery date is waning.

Didn't the Titanic sail from SouthHampton?

Don't give up altogether... My MCS was on the Falstaff too and is indeed now at the dock in NJ. Apparently the cars have been taking MUCH longer to run through customs than anticipated. Also, MINI production was running ahead of schedule in June/July and as a consequence many more cars wound up on our side of the ocean faster than anticipated. Thus, the operations at the port are somewhat overloaded. That's at least the story I'm getting for NJ...I don't know about the other US ports of entry for MINI.

Anyhow, my dealer tells me that he's been getting cars that shipped with ours all week, so there's apparently not a strict "first come/first served" policy. Cars are sort of picked out of the pack and loaded on trucks via some arcane logic. So, the point is, your car could show up at the dealer at almost any time now. What you need to do (which is what I'm doing) is to call your dealer regularly to see if the car's there. At this point, that's the definitive benchmark -- i.e., "It just came off of the truck!" -- the MINI site, and perhaps even the 800 number are sort of pointless by this stage of the game.

My car's only trying to get from Port of Newark to Long Island! I'd vol to go drive it over myself if they'd let me

Mine was at dock for over a week, and after it was 'released', from the dock, it still took a while to get to the distrubition center... although my dealer said it's been there for two weeks (i think she means it was delivered to port over two weeks ago), ASK-MINI said it was scheduled for shipping to the distribution center... so it's just a matter of waiting... and if you've got this far so far, waiting should be old hat... and slightly more on topic, my MINI was finished almost a week before the estimated production date... It was cool to know when it was finished, but it just made wating that much more of a pain...

Actually, I haven't been waiting all that long -- I placed my order only about 6 weeks ago. So, the fact that the car is at the dock and will be at the dealer any time now is in fact much better than a lot of what I read on this forum where people are waiting for 6 months or more (of course, IMO that's because they chose not to travel to find a dealer that could fill their order quicker...but whatever).

No, the frustrating thing for me is the illusion inspired by the technology. The OL site turns out to be data that's aprox. a week old. Further, it turns out that once the car is at the dock, it's off all tracking until it winds up at the dealer. In some ways, it might be better to have no info (as has been my experience with all previous cars) than tantalizingly incomplete info.

Oh well.

My dates were pretty accurate. About half-way through the trip from England, my estimated delivery date appeared: 8/29. After they updated the OL to reflect it'd landed, the date was moved up to 8/27 (less than a week later)...I couldn't get ahold of the dealer on 8/27 because they were busy delivering the truck-load of cars that had just arrived. I'm scheduled to pick mine up on Saturday!!!

Oh, and I think that maybe the NJ port is the only one backed up? SC doesn't seem to be that way...anyone in CA know about yours?
