R50/53 Two weeks!

Arghh
Just needed to let off some steam as our MINI has been waiting for us on the docks at New York for two weeks now, and still no new information about when it will reach the VPC. I'm taking my one road trip of the year starting Friday evening, driving from Pittsburgh to Cooperstown, NY and then spending a couple of days in the Adirondacks and finally on to Burlington, VT before driving back. It was going to be a perfect chance to run in the new car, but now it looks like our poor MINI won't make it to Pittsburgh in time.
I can't believe that they gave me an estimated delivery date about a week before they expected it to be, and then they've already missed the date by a week. Very frustrating, and of course no one really will take the blame, it just sort of happened that way.

I'm afraid I'm right there with you. My MINI was unloaded on the 12th from the Hudson Leader. The OL still shows the estimated delivery date of the 21st. I just got off the phone with my dealer, and she said that she called the port today to try to find out what was going on. They had about 2500 cars that came in and then another 4000 arrived shortly thereafter. She said that it would probably be another 2-3 weeks. I'm dying here...

I'm with you too, only now it's getting interesting as my financing committment expires 8/30 (at a very low rate, I might add) and I have to take the check on Friday or lose the rate !
It would appear from the website that I'm still on the dock, but a call to MINI USA leads me to believe I'm going through the VPC (although not very positive in his statement) and cars seem to get to the dealer quite quickly after being released.
My dealer says they have gotten all but a couple of cars that they expected for mid August delivery (mine being on of them) and that I should get the check to keep the low rate, because delivery shouldn't be long now !
Should I roll the dice ?? Talk about dying here ! LOL
Life is an adventure a new chapter written everyday !

Yeah, I'm in the same boat (literally) as you folks. Also, I sell my existing car today and then have only 7 days to transfer the plates to the MINI (or else I face a bunch of RMV delays...AND I do need a car of some sort ...it's a basic transporation issue!).
MINI told me that 2 boats arrived at the same time and that they're working "24/7" to clear the jam; but then they also said that no trucks will leave the port after today until Tuesday (it being the holiday weekend). So much for the "7" part of 24/7.
I'm really hoping someting moves for me today...

Dont worry... my MINI was on the Don Juan, and it sat at port for over 2 weeks...and nobody seems to be able to give me a good answer.. sooo... just sit, wait, and don't be to expectant on when you're going to get your MINI, just stay releaxed w/the peace of mind that it's finished, it's in the states, and it's on it's way...
