R50/53 intake clips

intake clips

can anyone tell me how to put close the clips back on my intake? ive tried using every kind of pliers i have but no help.

Don't know what to say. Took a few minutes, but pliers and a small flathead screwdriver worked fine. This is what I used for the hose...hopefully we're talking about the same clips.

its probably not on correctly, the clips are tight but not impossible. bmws and mini factory filters are notorious for being " a little big"

Randy Webb showed me how a small channelock pliers will do the trick--or just replace it with a screw clamp

My dealer-installed aftermarket intake was installed with a screw clamp. I guess they figured it was too big of a PITA to try to get the old clamp back on.

Agree, channel-lock pliers help, but just replacing with screw type makes it so much easier!

If you're gonna use screw clamps, use the ones designated for fuel injection whenever possible. The standard ones do not supply even pressure all around. There is significantly more pressure under the clamping mechanism, and if it is used on a plastic fitting it can cause deformation over time. The standard ones are sooo last century.
