Slag1911: I hate the R56. I hate it I hate I hate I hate it. If BMW/MINI doesn't change it back I'm going to hold my breath till they do.
Rest of the thread: *background noise*
Since we are in the mood of derailing threads, let me ask John directly... How is your ultra-reliable R56 doing these days? Last I read you car has spent like 2 months in the dealer shop getting defects fixed, right? I have been following your rants. I am watching papa!

Thankfully I haven't been in the dealer in several months. I am however currently driving a PT Loser thanks to a Nascar 'rubbing is racing' mentality as employed by driver that prefered to put the square peg in a round hole.
Many thanks for post stalking by the way
(and it's only been 30 days in the shop...thanks for checking *sarcasm*)
Jaja, good deal John. Hope you'll be back behind the wheel of your MINI soon
Amen! Regardless of whether you're behind the wheel of a R5x or R5x, it's still a MINI and it's a much different breed than anything else out there. I love em all.
If you so feel the need to bash on another MINI owner because of his/her preference for R5x over R5x...then driver a PT Loser for a week or three to get your priorities in line....
I have been saddled with a '05 Toyota Echo sedan as a loaner a few years back and also a Ford Focus and a Dodge Neon. I can tell you that either of those drives and feels much worse than any PT Hearse. The Echo would refuse to go any faster than 60MPH in the highway, and this is a car that at the time did not have more than 3K-4K miles on the clock. The piece of junk was solidly built, but the puny engine and 4-speed automatic made it one of the most insulting cars I have ever driven in 20 years. Heck, even my 1988 Ford Tempo with a 3-speed auto from back in the day felt more like a Benz compared to the tin can Toyota.

To be completely honest, I lump the PT cruiser in with the R56... both gimmicky automobiles targeted at the masses...
We get it. Everyone knows you are a driving enthooooooziest. Your posts are getting boring, much like listening to Rush Limbaugh (if anyone really is anymore).
I thought you were still holding your breath and stomping your feet....
The only one acting like a child are you and other R56 owners, whose only retort to discussions on this subject matter is to respond with a personal attack. Yet another indicator that the R56 truly is geared to the "masses"...

Dude seriously

You know, amazingly enough, he's still the most listened to syndicated radio show in America. There was an article on it in the NYtimes last week - I think he's still got something like 13-15 million listeners.
So I guess your analogy works well since many people listen to Rush, and many people respond to Slag.
I can't put the R56 in the same boat as the PT - if the R56 sales tank like the PT did and they have to start offering insane discounts just to move the things, then it'll be similar. I don't see that ever happening to the R56.
Hate to bring up something somewhat related to the thread topic, but motoringfile has done a pretty interesting article on the Prince cold-start issue.
