Windows and Lights

I'd like to change a few things on my car. Are there places that I can ge the clear/white tail lights other than from a MINI dealer? Are they hard to replace yourself? I also want to tint the windows, anyone know how much that usually runs for a MINI? Thanx!

Hi comet, and welcome to NAM! Have you checked the Marketplace forum? Just saw some clears on there recently; might be worth a look. For tinting, $150 is about average. Depends on the material used and what part of the world you are in.
Good luck with your choices, and you know, pics are always appreciated!

You can host at Flickr or photobucket...

My tint for 5 windows ran $150. As for the clear tail lights... check you the vendor directory in NAM or the marketplace.

Let's see some pics!

Speaking of windows: Has anybody ever installed a drivers side window themselves? If so, is it worth saving the money or would you recommend having the dealership installing it?

I would suspect getting a window installed and aligned properly is difficult, especially if you have never done it before. I dunno if your window was shattered or if it was a botched tint job. Either way, I would recomend someone who has done it before. Get a dealer quote and some from local bodyshops.

I wasn't sure how difficult the installation process is? Somebody threw a rock right through my drivers side window, just to take some change out of the cup holder. I could save about $200 if I did myself, but I never installed a window on a mini before.

How hard could it be? after it's in, it's just trial and error till it's aligned, go for it.
