Are you talking about the front windows or rear windows (rear seats)? Have you removed the plastic panels and rear seats?

Got it... Sorry, I have not removed those before. I don't think your airbag will deploy with those pillars. I know the front pillars are a little more delicate. Do the rear pillars you're trying to remove have any screws/bolts? I think they just pop off...

Anyone else know?

I dont know about the rear pillar, but the front ones, are disposable, meaning, if you take them off you have to get new ones.. according to bently manual

Disconnecting the airbag... There is a clip you'll have to lift to remove the connection. A flat head screw driver should allow you to lift up gently and then pull apart...

I removed my front pillar and re-installed with no problems during a radar install...

If you leave it disconnected and turn on the car, the airbag light will come on... If you do that and then re-connect, the airbag light will stay on. I suggest you leave it connected. I dont' know if there is away to trick it to think it's connected.

Good luck.

i think you can use a 3ohm resistor and trick it. youll want to
wire up a 2A fuse on it too.

dont quote me on it though as i haven't needed to trick the SRS on the MINI
yet.

You've gotta love the MINI community & NAM.

That sounds like it would work Ken... I'd check with an auto shop though to make sure.. Car audio shop or something like that.

or you might be able to find a plug and play steering boss (hub)
maker out of Japan for our MINI's that includes the resistor..and
get the values from that.

most steering hubs sold in japan come with a plug an play harness.

There is a strap attached to a clip that is a one time use only, meaning the clip can only go in once. The strap keeps the C pillar from knocking you in the head if the air curtain deploys. I removed my seat belt hardware without cutting the strap or mangling the clip; the C pillar just hung to the side. No need to disconnect any type of wire connector.

When I removed the c-pillar cover to run my XM antenna, I was not able to completely reinstall it; as a previous poster has written, some aspect of it is one-time use only.
