PW harder to see???

Was in a rental PW/B MCSa yesterday and in the space of about 15 secs was almost run off the road twice...can only guess they didn't see me.

Has never happened in my HB/W. Wonder if PW is harder to see?

Nah, I think you just normally have good luck if you're not experiencing this kind of driving on a regular basis.

I commute in my CR Cooper and in the past 3 weeks, I had someone try to merge into my lane and came close to hitting me (in one case, couldn't have been more than 2 inches). I also have people pulling out in front of me constantly, making me brake to keep from hitting them.

It's a world with an incredible amount of bad drivers and an equally incredible amount of discourteous drivers.

I would think the silver family would be hardest to see (which is why I didn't get one), and yellow the easiest.

Driving in a snowstorm, then yes a PW would be more difficult to see. Any car is difficult to see, however, for those drivers not paying attention.

Except for in a driving snowstorm, I believe white, along with yellow and red, is one of the easiest to see colors.
Pavement colored silver and gray are the hardest to see.

Must have just been a bad day.

I am rarely encroached upon.

But maybe I'm just passing them all

I heard red was not on the easy to see list...they must mean at night.

I think I heard that once also, hard to believe, bright red jumps out at you almost as much as yellow. Maybe they mean some of the dark red colors?

Red only jumps out when you look at it and use your color vision. Using peripheral vision, red is the same as dark green, grey, dark blue and pavement. The single easiest to see color is white. Lights on also helps, which is the reason behind DRLs.

That said, any EMS, fire or police officer will tell you they have had people pull right into them when they had their stobes and sirens on.

I got PW because it's easier to see, day or night. Yellow was a close 2nd choice though. Yesterday I was right behind a giant black Canyonero when it got nailed by an illegal left turn, you'd think you could see that thing from a mile away.

I am so paranoid, I often drive around with rear fogs on. I like DRL, but I've heard they don't actually increase and may impair visibility, dunno why. I won't put any writing or stickers or anything to tempt someone to get close enough to read my car (on the back anyway).

Just assume everyone else is a blind idiot hell bent on destroying your precious car. Uh oh, I feel a rant coming on.

Have your DRL turned on. I've heard the logic you speak of and it defies common sense. My 50 years of driving experience says otherwise.
