Farewell all.

I'm so sad and disappointed.
I'm 61. I drive very condervatively. I couldn't wait to have my 2003 Cooper with the Steptronic Transmission. I have been a Mini Booster for a long time. I had two and my daughter has one. Mine was only a few years old and all kinds of stuff started going wrong with it. Most recently, the BMW dealer told me that the transmission needed replacement (out of warranty of course). Unbelievable. Four years old and $6,000 + for a new transmission? Huh?
I drove a Ford pickup for 15 years and the transmission never failed. What the heck?! I'm happy with what the dealer gave me for it though. Resale made me extremely happy. God will punish me for not revealing the trany problem. I hope he agrees that "All's fair in love and used cars".

I love my new un-mini.

Well, this is my first and last post. I wish you all the very best of luck.

sorry to hear about your troubles... I dumped my wife's volvo for a lot less than the 6000 reasons you just gave. I completely understand.

should've traded toward an 07 MCS and really

been flying..

my work mates 2nd ford 250 (2003) shot a spark plug from the head, after warratny, to the tune of $4500 fix.

she swore by her first ford....

won't have near as much without a cooper...

have a good one..

Glad to see you could get some good $$ for your trade. Glad to see I'm not the only one to dump and run when the repair bills get out of hand!

Good luck on your next adventure!

ha ha, my dads crap box ford f250 puked an entire turbo into the motor. then when it was "fixed" it felt like a geo metro. THEN motor and turbo #2 were just as bad. It's really nice to pull a trailer when you have less torque then a cvt mini.

so like you said farewell to mini, we say farewell to ford. I guess driving a car with the fit and finish of cars double the price isnt for everyone.

I find it odd when people say 'goodbye' when they never really said 'hello'.

Issues are what they are...for every bad experience, I'm sure there are more than plenty of good ones (no matter what the ride is). Sorry to hear your ride was so short (no pun intended)...but I'm sure it happens.

$6k sucks, but is not uncommon for dealership-replaced auto trannys. I've seen three Audi A4's with the same problem. It's not Mini or Ford... It's 2007!

Man... what ever happened to $600 problems?

Precisely. Hey, nice Sig., Paul!

CVT to JCW: extreme upgrade. I love it. I had a CVT loaner car for the past 9 days. I can relate.
