R50/53 Estimated Delivery Date
Well, just checked the Owner's lounge (only the 3rd time today), and the estimated delivery date for my MINI... MY BIRTHDAY!!! How cool is that? Not that I actually expect to get my car on time, but that would be pretty ironic, especially since I placed my order nearly 5 months before delivery!
What are you talking about...
How are you finding a estimated delivery date for your MINI anywhere on the web site?? Not possible.
The only way you can get this info is by calling MINI directly. Even doing so, they can't give you a firm date until your car is about to leave the VPC.

>>Click on "Review Order Detail". Estimated delivery date is displayed in the middle of the screen.
That's very odd. I don't get that at all. The best I get is:
"At Distrobution Center"
No estimated date at all.
Anyways, doesn't really matter if they had one or not. As I said, I'm currently at the VPC and they still can't give me an accurate delivery date. Heck, my car missed 2 boats just getting here. There are tons of things that can happen between build and delivery. I wouldn't get too caught up with estimated delivery dates. They will just frustrate you in the end.

It doesn't say "Estimated Delivery Date," it says, "Aquired Date," which from my best guess I can only assume that this is the date that the dealer anticipates the car will arrive, based on numerous production factors and deilvery on past orders. I'm sure that MINI has some sort of equation that they typically use to figure out "approximately" when the vehicle will be shipped/arrive. It can't be that hard? Day 1 paint, Day 2-30 MINIze, Day 31 deliver...
Here in Germany (bought US Spec MCS) we get none of the above. Our car is actually sold by MINI/BMW Germany, and there is no way to track it other than the weekly phone call to the dealer (he's sick of hearing my voice).
Car is built and in limbo between Oxford and Germany. It's been in transport for the last two weeks according to the dealer. It's only an 8 hour drive away by truck...
rant is over. I hope you all get your cars on their estimated delivery dates.
Can't wait to motor!!!

Congrats on your new MCS order!
Remember that your new MINI still needs to make the crossing over the English Channel from the port of Dover (Likely) and then make it into the continent via Calais (France) or Antwerp (Belgium). Since the UK is part of the EU I would not think there are customs formalities involved but I could be wrong. If there are, then that might explain the delay you are experiencing for your delivery in Germany.
Are you planning any nice roadtrips once you get your MINI? Man, in Europe is a delight to travel by car (Done it myself many times) and be able to travel to many different countries within hours from each other.
Keep us posted!
