The best place I have to keep my Mini is in a barn with lots of dust and bird poop. Not sure I want to pay $200 for a custom cover. Has anyone found one of the $30-40 models that fits pretty well? I know it's not gonna be perfect, but it'll do the job if it covers the car.

I don't know of any good or cheap covers, but you can just throw a big blanket over the MINI. I know its not the same, but it should work.

Its not really cheap, but I love my MINI Indoor cover with the zipper... it fits the car so tight that its like kinky lingere for a car.

I loved the zipper one, but when I asked my dealer about buying one from them, they said that they are not allowed to sell any, it's for the dealers only which is bs.

you can get the zipper indoor MCO at Classic mini - ask for Brian - very nice and helpful person - still around $200

I did not make my mind yet and using the Costco Wholesale for approx $50 so far. Debating if to buy Dust Top for approx 130 plus some shipping.
Tried to get some advice on the forum but not great results.

Good Luck :smile

Forgive me if this seems like a partial hijack....

I've never used a car cover before--is it as big as pain in the patooty as it seems to be? I think I'll have to resort to using an outdoor cover, as I awoke this morning to what must surely have been an overnight migratory deviation of a bald eagle flock. It was gross.
That's an understatement.
The person in control of the garage is a self-important ninny, so I'm stuck parking outside, under trees. Forever. Or at least until I leave.

So, how does one care for a car cover? Is it the kind of thing where I'll use it 5 times then decide that it's too much of a pain?

Car covers really aren't a pain (there's a process for putting it on) but if a bird did his/her business on a cover, it would still be a mess. When shopping remember that some covers are machine washable and some fold down much smaller (for boot storage) than others, even of the same brand.

Thanks for the info  Yeah, it'd still be a mess, but at least it wouldn't be a mess on my car. Then again, the continual washing might officially qualify it as a pain... Perhaps I'll forceably remove the godforsaken 90's-something Integra that presently usurps my garage... Oh yeah, cause IT really needs to have a safe haven while my MINI serves as a target...

I got mine at autoanything.com. It used to fit perfect and it was a pretty good deal (I got the Noah for about $120), but I have never owned a car cover before and made the mistake of drying it so it shrank a little in a couple of spots. Still fits ok though. A word of caution if you plan on keeping it in-car: The Noah is a pretty heavy weight cover, takes up about half of the boot when folded sloppily.

My dealer actually sent me this one by mistake. I really like it too but it is for inside only. My Mini has a nice garage to sleep in at night so I sent this one back.... Hopefully I will get the outside cover soon!
