When I picked up my '06 MC in Mid-Feb, the computer said my first oil change would be in 9825 miles. The car was new & had 11 miles on it.
I now have about 4400 miles on the car & the computer now says my first oil change will be in 6300 miles.
Most of my driving is fairly sedate, nevertheless, when the need arises, I'm not reluctant to drop into 4th & run the rpms up.
Anyone else experience the oil change interval increase or am I just a wuss when it comes to driving my car?

Mine increased over time too. I do believe that the maintenance mile-indicator adjusts based on how the car is driven.

Mine eventually said I needed service....at 11,350 miles. So if you think YOU drive like Grandma....consider how my MINI must think of how I drive her....

 

I swear yesterday mine said 15000.
I'm at 1200, and I do mostly drive like an old lady

 

I think a lot of it may have to do with the type of daily traffic you experience. Geoffrey's indicator said I needed the oil service at approximately 10800 miles. I drive in A LOT of stop-and-go traffic. Oh how I love Los Angeles.

 

I think this is probably a good bet. Although about 98% of the driving I do is city driving, it's not stop and go (cruising on secondary roads w/ 45 mph speed limits, and some lights here and there). I took Guinness on three or four 300 mile road trips and the indicator is now showing me about 11,100. It definitely increased some, but I don't drive like a grandma. Then again, I don't ever really drive like a total speed demon either.

 

i change my oil every 3-5 thousand miles . . i don't trust the 15,000 the dealer recomends

 

If you have to ask, then the answer is yes. ;o)

mine started at 15k miles, but eventually said it needed a change at 8k miles i am speedy most of the time (gotta keep the honda civics in check) and now at 17K sais i need another one in about 8K miles so i think it may also have to do with the car being broken in?
