Rally Flaps install w/ just 2 sided tape?

Hey fellas (the occasional lady),
I just got my Rally Armor Universal Flaps in and I'm really tempted to install them with just 2 sided tape. I have a roll of Scotch "extreme mounting tape" and it claims it can hold up to 20 lbs in all weather. Surely my flaps don't weigh that much and won't be under that much pressure, right? I'm not planning on actually rallying it or anything, I just like to pretend. Lol

I guess what I'm asking is this as bad of an idea as it sounds?

While the flaps will weigh very little, the pressure exerted while driving will be many times over the limit of that tape.

Now that I've mounted them properly I can see how simply using 2 sided tape would have been a terrible idea. Thanks for the common sense!!

Any time! Sometimes we have good intentions but need a sanity check. I'm just glad you didn't learn an expensive lesson.

Back in 'the day', two of my college room mates figured that since their heavy mattress stayed put just fine on the roof of the car in the parking lot, surely holding it down through the windows would be sufficient to go from one dorm to another down the highway just a little bit.
Not so much . . .
They had not yet registered for Common Sense 101.
