R50/53 I finally got my MCS!!!
I finally got my MCS!!!
Well I have finally made it happen. I might as well mail my licence into the DMV now because I am not going to be able to contain this wonderful machine.
She's a Chilli Red/ White 06 (still new) MCS with premium/sport/sirius/ black leatherette/graphite trim,17" S lites w/performance runflats. I added bonnet stripes(white) as they were not already on. I am in love!
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for in a car I am thrilled!
I got it at MINI of Charleston and it took some dealing
but everything stayed friendly
so now my wifes van has been replaced by my MINI (which is a personal victory for me). Pics to follow.

I have noticed the speed is often much more than I am feeling and it gets there very quick.
I also noticed that it collects bugs like an entomologist on the interstate which prompted a quick wipe down this morning as I had to drive her 330mi home yesturday.

Keep the faith Derek--I lurked and pestered on this site for several sice March researching, etc on my MCS- this is a great place for the unvarnished truth and overall great people! Your in a good area to find used Mini's-there seems to be a lot in the capitol region-they never show up in eastern NC-luckily I found a new 06 just wating for me at the dealer. BTW MINI of Charlotte has a very nice pure silver/black new 06 MCS on their lot-that was my second choice-I like the red a little more. They also have a VERY nice yellow/black 05 MCS with less than 10K and it's loaded. Good luck with your search!
I forgot to mention that after I left the dealer I was searching around the Sirius channels for the right cruising tunes. I stopped at the "punk" station to see what was on and it was "Anarchy in the UK" which was also the first full song played in my MINI- how perfect was that!?!?
What's first??....good question! I'm thinking I might start with somehting easy-like an auto up/garage opener mod but then the one ball mod intrests me as well-it's also very cheap to have done, on the other hand something like a union jack sunroof cover- or maybe I'll just get some eye's -as you can tell I have no idea!
Your first impulse is correct -- begin with Ian Cull's auto up / garage opener. Cheap, useful and easy to install yourself.
-- especially now that the new version includes DSC and fog-lights control for the same base price (you can program - un-program each feature as you wish)
