Spring Driving School at Beaverun

The weather is showing signs of improvement and spring cannot be far away. So its time to think about getting our Minis out and having some fun.
This year the PittStop Mini Club will be sponsoring a Spring Driving School at the Beaverun Race Complex. The school will consist of two classroom sessions, slalom and autocross courses and instructors to ride with you(if desired). There will be plenty of time to run the courses and the classroom sessions should help you improve your on course performance.

Where: Beaverun Race Complex, Wampum, PA
When: March 19, 2005 starting at 11:00 am
Cost: $35/driver
Pre-registration is requested, send to:
PittStop Mini Club
c/o Mini of Pittsburgh
5147 Liberty Ave
Pittsburgh, Pa 15224
See you there

pre-registration clarification

Yes, all pre-registration checks should be made out to PittStop Mini Club and sent to the address listed on the original posting.

Registration

Yes, same day registration will be available. We are asking for pre-registration so that we can get a feel for how many to expect.

The MINI of Pittsburgh friendly Motoring Advisors will be there. That would be me and Mindy. We will bring 2 demos for you to drive. Our 2005 "Works" car with 210HP and our 2005 Paddle Shifter automatic Cooper S.

Hope to see you there!

Also mark on your calendars that BeaveRun is also having open lapping sessions on the race track with instructors on April 9th. I believe the cost is $175 for the day with multiple 20 minute sessions.

Happy Motoring from:

Your MINI of Pittsburgh MAs

Whoohoo! This will be fun, especially after all this snow. Dry pavement and performance cars will make for a great driving and learning experience! See you there!

We'll be there as well! While I'm test driving the new S with the paddle-shifters, you guys can give our project car a spin:smile: Most recent modifications will be: 19% pulley/GIAC ECU software/JCW injectors and KW Variant 2 coilovers.

Whoohoo! I love project cars! I'm interested in seeing what a 19% pulley does!

Hopefully my stock x-lites and runflats don't impede on its performance (you know it will)...it is still my daily driver...I have yet to make the transition to some real wheels and tires:smile:

So do you want me to drive it like its stolen or just regular? Come to think of it, I don't know what regular driving is after I got my MINI! I drive like I'm in the Italian Job all the time! Even better if there are multiple MINIs headed somewhere after work!

I beat on it everyday, so driving it like it's stolen would be taking it easy:smile:

Graham,
Try to make it over, not far from me. Can I come there early, before 11:00am, and it 35.00 to drive no matter what? And I can sign up same day?
I just want to drive the S auto and maybe if you have a JCW, since I have not drove ether. Just two cars?
Thanks Mike

I don't know what time they'll let you in and you can sign up the same day but it's $40.00 on the day I think, not my call. You can drive your car or ours or maybe one of the Eurostyles cars. You'll have to ask them about that. We'll just be bringing the two newest test cars, our auto S and the JCW.

Just talked with Steve at the track and we can go early if we want to. Also, there will be a limited amount of track time!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's in addition to the autocross that we will be doing.
