Where to go to get my mods installed
Where to go to get my mods installed
Hey
I decided to get my 16% M7 Pulley and DDM CAI installed instead of doing it myself since i have heard that i can hurt the supercharger if i dont do everything right and to be honest im not very good with tools and really dont wanna risk breaking anything on the car. so anyways i live in bellevue and would like to get those 2 parts installed somewhere within decent range, for as well priced as possible. does anyone know where to go on the east side or seattle area?

go to www.psmini.org and post the question. We have a few members who do installs and also a new sponsor there that can do them.

If you haven't already done your mods, I can highly recommend Group 2 Motorsports in Seattle. Sometimes a little challenging to get an appointment date setup, but these folks are versed in the MINIs and are a full race-tech level shop. Very down to earth & not snobbish in the slightest.

I'm looking for something similar, but more of a custom job (putting a radar detector into the rather large rear view of the 07 MCS). Would Park Place Ltd. be able to do this??
I'm also looking for a good tint shop as well as a good custom body paint shop
(i'm moving to the Seattle area this month)

For tinting, check out Accutint. They have a Bellevue location, as well as downtown Seattle. I'm very happy with the job they did for me.
There are a few paint places in the area, including a recently joined psmini.org member, if you are willing to travel up north to the Bellingham area (about 1.5 - 2 hrs north of Seattle).
As for installation of a radar detector into your rear view mirror, Park Place is highly unlikely. They sell high end vehicles, but to the best of my knowledge, do not do custom work like that. In fact, I'm not even sure how you would go about pulling that one off. You have something in mind already, maybe?

Thank you for the tint and paint recommendations.
For the radar, i have some designs all done up for putting a Escort 8500 X50 in the rear view ... It would require about 3 custom parts and some wiring. Basically a fatter back end of the rear view with a glass peice in the front (detection), then a little "hang down" piece to hold the LED display to the left the mirror adjustor. The wiring is just going through the roof to either the battery or the adapter in the trunk.
I dont have the time nor experience or tools to do the job, especially the custom parts, so i was hopin there would be a place like "West Coast Customs" in the Seattle area. If not, that's cool, i'll go with my second idea... mount the detector on the rear sunroof and runnin the cables to the back power adapter. This way i can hear it beep and look in my rear view to see the LED display. I just dont know with the window tints how well this would work ... gotta test... err.

I'm sure there is some place in the Seattle area that can do custom work. Depending on the level of work needed, it's even possible PS MINI memebers may be able to assist. If you are talking about machining something, that may be a tall order, but hey, you never know.
I would call Custom F/X in Parkland. 253-537-3201.
They do some very custom stuff. If they cannot help you, they probably know someone who can.
One-off means you are making one and it is all hand done or custom machined. very time consuming.

So long as you don't Disagree with Joe English
It's primarily a vintage Alfa Romeo shop & that's his cup of tea.
On the East Side, I'd recommend Cantrell Motorsports, good shop for suspension & race prep, plus they're up to speed on modern electrics and engine performance. You'll see a lot of custom lotus', ferraris, porsches, and such there (used to be the Speedware shop foreman).
