What about reliability? Might be a little risky. Am I wrong?

I think if you are doing mods like this, reliability isn't your primary concern.

30 city and 48mpg highway out of a twincharged car....hrmm. It runs off of oxygen? Something doesn't add up here.

For a twincharged car....0-62 (62?) in 7.9sec is outright rediculous. And I don't see how a car can run off of straight oxygen, yet still have exhaust fumes to power the turbo?

I think they aimed the oxygen gobbling phrase to emphasize how the car relys on boosting methods for power, rather than combusting more fuel with a larger engine.

If I didn't already love my MINI I would be interested if they brought this to the US market.

i think it is 62 mph because that is about 100km/h, they must do 0-100km/h in europe

Alright, you need to read the specs again, it is a 1.4lt 4 cylinder motor. It is not made for performance concerns, it is for mileage, goofball Reading too much TULS threads

It's sequential...

not series. USes the SC for low RPM, and the turbo for high RPM. It's not like the mods done to the Mini, which use the SC to pressurize the incoming air for the turbo.....

And this isn't for power, it's for efficiency. The SCs crap out at higher RPM, and the turbos need some RPMs to get happy.... With this design, each system is used when it's most efficient.

But this isn't new. The Lancia WRC B class cars did this when they were getting really, really nasty scary dangerous!
