Got me a 06 Civic EX sedan. :)
Got me a 06 Civic EX sedan. :)
I've been looking around for a $20K price range commuter for the last
many months and decided today to rid my 04 Civic Value Package and
get the new 06 Civic EX sedan with 5AT in the 'atomic blue' color
which is like a dark version of MINI's electric blue.
it's literally
a cool color.
I was originally fine with the 04 Civic VP for the commute, but it not
having any convenience items like power windows/locks, map light,
etc. caught up to me. the new civic is pretty nice...basically got
everything i would need for the commute.
just add a cup of
coffee and hook up my MP3 player and im all set.
yep, my MCS and G35C and the wife's 06Legacy are still here.

I'm actually going to purchase an 06' EX Coupe in a few weeks, sadly as a replacement for my 05' MC.
Although this is not my desire, I generally enjoy the features of the Civic and since I'm buying it as a car that will "take my from point A to B" it will serve my needs and save me about $200/month that will go towards saving for grad school next year, when I will have no employment income. Hopefully I'll be in a MINI again in 08' or 09'...I hope you enjoy your Civic

It's nothing luxurious, but it does get you from A to B with a lot of
convenience...i'll have to see how it goes the next several weeks,
but the 20mile+ trip home from the dealer (my local dealers were sold out
on the EX sedans) was already enjoyable for a commuter.
i got a ton
of looks from people.
i think honda did a great job on this latest Civic. it will sell like crazy.

After hearing your interest in the new G35 I thought you'd "retire" your current to commuter duty and add the new one as the specialty car. Glad to hear you like though, how's it compare with the Si and the MINI?

hehehehe!yep, leased. ever since a couple of years ago, i decided to lease my
commuters (our legacy was purchased) since i don't really bond to them
much.
. i love my wife's legacy though. surbaru really came aroundthis time.

Actually no, i need a 4dr sedan. no more coupes for now (already got 2).
im sure they are faster, but i don't need speed to get to work...more
convenience.

, but i did think about how much it would trade-in for down the road vs Maz3's and other cars that I looked at. definitely made a sound
decision as far as money goes (well, for me).
My G35C's my garage queen for a couple more years. i don't like driving
MT to work plus i want to keep a low profile. if Honda, my other choice would
have been an Accord, but the new Civic is much cooler.
how does it compare with the Si and MINI? are you kidding?
i didn't even really "test drive" the darn car... i drove it from the dealer's far
warehouse lot about a mile away to the dealer lot to pick it up. I
don't 'test drive' cars of this level other than to check all its operations.
the turn radius, nimbleness is somewat MINI-like, but i won't be driving it
like my MCS so i really don't know (and really don't care to find out).
but the car is very stable at expressway speeds... oh, and the seat is
EXTREMELY comfortable for a car in its price range especially with the
controls and the telescopic steering wheel. that was one of the final
deciding factors...comfort!

I announced at my house that I was now collecting cars and no longer selling them. Now I struggle with excuses to purchase them. How far is the commute that you use a Honda vs the Mini? What are you saving the Mini for? When do you drive the G35c? Help me out! I have a Suburban and used the story of need better gas mileage and I ride alone so I purchased the MCSCa. I can get the green light with the right reasons for more cars.......share the stories!
Got some Polks today... will install later on the week and will post pics.
The factory stereo can use some serious help. lol
will do the front doors first and see if i need to replace
the rears too.

already swapped out the speakers tonite.
same deal as the MCS's speakers....tore the factory speakers apart to
make it into a spacer and salvaged the plug so there was no modification
needed on the car's harness. already sounds 10x better.
hummm...i should wire up a sub.
anyone selling an infiniti basslink
for cheap?

I installed a Bazooka sub into the Civic today, just a small 6.5" active
one for fill.. but it fills very nice for a small sub.
($169 circuit city),
probably less than $100 online.
I recommend it as an alternate for someone looking at the BassLink for
their MINI's, but don't quite want to spend the money. (my MCS is
running a BassLink and very powerful for its size).
next up are probably some springs, alignment kit, and 17's.

Finally got around to taking a pict of my commuter. It's pretty nice,
i like it so far.
A little drop, some 17's, and a nice small lip spoiler on the trunk should
finish her off nicely.
