All of a sudden, I love Oklahoma!
See this:
CNN.com - slow drivers beware
All I can say is: about damn time! The wonderful OK troopers focusing on more than just speeding tickets, but LLBs too. Wonderful way to help reduce traffic congestion, road rage, etc.
Now, if only the other states (at least the ones with the same law, which many have) would follow suit.

I guess I'm happy they are enforcing that law. I merge on, then go left to pass the snails.
Trending Topics
If they are going to have signs that say "slower traffic keep right" and a law that the left lane is for passing, it's about time they start enforcing it. Either that or they are just tired of having to chase speeders. Slower target. I'm sure it will save some dropped cups of coffee and donuts for the officers not having to "chase" at high speeds.
The ones who really tick me off (probably the ones you are thinking of, too) are those who make a beeline for the left lane and then drive 60 blocking all the folks who they cut off to get there.
I'm not a bee liner. I work my way over a lane at a time. The bee liners cause many close calls.
Yep there are folks who take pure delight in holding up traffic.
They are members of the Anti-Destination League. A bunch of tools each & every one of them.

That is because these people did not learn to drive in Germany on the Autobahn! I think that I am going to put "Drive Right" all over my car in Vinyl!

Left Lane Reply
I wish the truckers would stay out of the left lane, especially on a 4 lane highway. Its against the law where I live & there are signs posted, but they stay in the left lane anyway. njp
. It should be a slap-on-the-wrist fine.
I agree with Minidrivr, the fine has to be steep to get people to change their ways. A "slap on the wrist fine" would have no impact on their driving habits.
And shokk, I agree that trucks are really becoming a problem, especially when they hog the left lane, but not having trucks would pretty much end commerce in this country. In fact, I'll bet you a coke your MINI was delivered to the dealership with a truck.
They just need to follow the rules of the road too, and stay the hell out of the left lane. Oh, and slow down too. In my area trucks routinely drive over 80 mph on the 4 lane..........

I found the IL law on this topic.....
(d) Upon an Interstate highway or fully access controlled freeway, a vehicle may not be driven in the left lane, except when overtaking and passing another vehicle.
(e) Subsection (d) of this Section does not apply:
(1) when no other vehicle is directly behind the
vehicle in the left lane;
(2) when traffic conditions and congestion make it
impractical to drive in the right lane;
(3) when snow and other inclement weather conditions
make it necessary to drive in the left lane;
(4) when obstructions or hazards exist in the right
lane;
(5) when a vehicle changes lanes to comply with
Sections 11‑907 and 11‑908 of this Code;
(6) when, because of highway design, a vehicle must
be driven in the left lane when preparing to exit;
(7) on toll highways when necessary to use I‑Pass,
and on toll and other highways when driving in the left lane is required to comply with an official traffic control device; or
(8) to law enforcement vehicles, ambulances, and
other emergency vehicles engaged in official duties and vehicles engaged in highway maintenance and construction operations.

This is the same here in Colorado as it is in OK.
I actually was traveling doing 65-70 (in a 65 zone)in the "passing lane" passing a cop in the right hand lane. I was following 3 other cars doing the same thing.
The lead car, once he got passed the cop, decided to slow down but didin't pull over to the right hand lane. The 2 cars and myself had to pull over to the right lane in front of the cop and pass the lead car in the left lane.
TI looked in my rear view and the cop pulled over the guy in the left lane after I passed him.
Freaking awesome!

I was stationed in Oklahoma City, OK (at the time of the Murrah Federal Bldg bombing) and I loved driving around there. Wide open interstates in pretty good condition. The one time I was pulled over for driving <<TOS violation avoided>> miles per hour
, the policewoman asked me why I was driving so fast. I told her there's no traffic, the roads are dry, I just left Germany so I know how to drive at those speeds, and I was just having some fun. Not even a warning.
Yeah... OK is a good state for driving !!

Too bad your MINI rode a truck from the VPC to the dealer and pretty much all your mods travelled by truck at some point before getting to you. Not to mention 99% of all the food you eat.
Not that I love driving around lots of trucks or anything, but we do need them.
shokk, LeeL makes a very good point here. I agree that some truckers use their right of weight to bully themselves down the road. I think those trucks are the minority as are the left lane hogging trucks. Can't live with them, but we can't live without those trucks either.
