But I definitly want to do a midnight cruise. Would next weekend be too early for people?

My preference would be for a Saturday night.

Arggggh! April seems pretty packed with MINI events. Maybe we should bump this to early May?

Sounds good to me. The more advance notice we give everyone, the more people will show!

Would be interested. Open for an April date or May date at this point. Preferably on a Saturday night.

Fridays and Saturdays work well and I like the idea of dinner before hand, but maybe 8pm dinner?

I'm in, but finding a date in May might be tough. There's a lot of MINI events happening in the next 6 weeks. Plus we need to do NR #7. Let me check out the calendar and then I'll post some date options.

I am up for a late night run in San Francisco on a Saturday. Places to go that I can think of are The Embarcadro, Market Street, Twin Peaks, Great Highway, Lincoln Park, Sea Cliff, The Presido, The Marina, North Beach and back to the Embarcadero. We could group up at the parking on Bryant and Embarcadero. As far as places to eat, Gordon Biersch on Embarcadero is fun and so is Beach Chalet on Great Highway. How about the 29th of April?

There is the MINI Ad agency breakfast, run, and lunch the next day (April 30th) starting at Crissy Field. Everyone could pitch a tent on the Marina after the midnight run and be ready for the Ad agency run the next morning.

Going to the Ad run, but not to interested in pitching a tent. I do not want the Bender to start looking like those silly Pontiac Aztecs

I think it is going to be tough right now with all the events going on in the next month & 1/2, but if we have the time, we are there.

Just kidding about the tent, but does anybody know a decent clean place to stay in SF on a Saturday night where you don't have to take out a bank loan to stay?

Call me Norm... theres a Holiday Inn on Priceline that we routinely stay in in SF for about $65 per night... they claim it's a 3-star, but it may be a middle 2. There is garage parking, but they do charge for it.

Michael,

This looks like fun. With Peter's input on great room rates ($65/night-Holiday Inn). Someone please let me know if this night run is on. I want to book a hotel room. Make it a MINI weekend. Jessica and I have been dying to get out in the city. Ride the cable cars, China town,.....etc.

Norm, the hotel we have stayed in is the Holiday Inn on Van Ness (a few blocks south of Brooks on the opposite side of the street from the car lots). If booked thru priceline we have gotten rooms there for as little as $35 per night and as much as $79 per night depending on whats happening in the area.... I am sure the rooms are at least $135 - $200 per night if you got them from the hotel over the counter at the hotel.

If something is happening Saturday night April 29th, we will go also... stay in the hotel or at least shower, then off to Crissey field on the 30th.

Try Hotwire. I've gotten good deals from them. If you do not like the
'Forrest Gump' factor in booking with them (booking a hotel with Hotwire
is like a box of chocolates -- you never know what you're going to get),
there is a little trick you can do to determine the exact hotel before booking.
I'd rather not post the information here (don't want them closing this back-
door), so PM me if you are interested.

By the looks of that list... Saturday, May 27 is the only non-conflicting date for a midnight SF run. So let's take a vote... for anyone who would actually participate in a midnight run, what's your preferred date???

April 29 - 3
May 6

Jessica and I are booking our room for April 29th. I know Peter & Janet are as well. But I would be up for doing it again as well if everyone picks another night. The idea of buzzing around SF at night sounds great. Quoit Tower, Twin Peaks, Broadway, Embarcadero, China Town, Fisherman's Warf, Riding the Cable cars, an Irsih coffee at Buena Vista, etc....etc...etc....

Then the Ad agency breakfast and run starting at Crissy field.

Summer is coming, Rain is going away. Life is GOOD!!!!

Thanks Wonderdrug for the tip. I hear that hotels are booking fast, so this time I will do it the old fashioned way, but if you would, please email me @ norm@redwoodempiremini.com. I'd like to try your trick.

Thanks,
