We're still down for the 27th of May for a midnight run. Do we have details yet? I'll get them posted on the GCM site and send out an email to everyone... Love the city in the night time! I'll bring my D70 and tripod...

In my home town, no less!
Sadly, I'll be in NYC that weekend. Hope it goes well, and if my schedule changes, I'll be down for zipping through the city...

Midnight Maverick Run thru SF
Saturday, May 27th 2006

Sheeeez, I just looked at the date again and realized that I'll be in NY on a business trip. I'm going through a patch where my work & school life is conflicting with my Mini life.

Ha! Maybe I can fly back from NY into SFO late Saturday and make the short drive up to SF for the run!

Ha, well me, I had a voucher to burn so i pulled the trigger. I'm a comic illustrator in my moonlighting hours and have some collaborators up there to visit, as well as some shopping and architectural photography points to hit. I almost sprung for shipping my road bike over as well, but instead decided to hoof it around again.

But I'm clear for 27th... will prbably wrangle a buddy into it, since my wife would probably back out at the last minute, ha.

You guys keep it mellow on these runs, or do you let it out a bit and risk the wrath of the local PD? In other words, is this a cruising caravan, or an SFGP?

Ummm... somewhere in between...
This group definitely likes to Motor, but we do respect the long arm of the law.

Sounds about right...
I don't travel without my Valentine... though lately, I've noticed more often they're lurking and will spot you before gunning you, or just pace you. I'm convinced someone's using POP int he bay area, at least starting with it, though I've never seen that substantiated. But I've had the detector go off in little squirts of max close-range detection that promptly cancel... right as I'm passing a stationary cruiser... hm...

Hey, are there any plans for a small group late dinner prior to the run?

Well, the Beach Chalet is open until 11 on Saturdays so we could dine there around 9:30 and be ready to hit the parking lot by 11:30. Or we could find someplace else and shoot for an 8-8:30 dinner. It really depends on who's in and what they're up for. I'm flexible.

If you're coming to the run... what're your thoughts on dinner?

My schedule appears to lean in favor of me making the run

Would love to eat a late night dinner in San Fran (the Beach Chalet sounds good) with a stop at a good local coffee shop before the run. Anyone want to kick around some ideas?

Sounds like this is going to be a lot of fun and I'm sorry to miss it. Will be in Spain that week. Probably see some old Minis out there.

I am up for dinner before. A coffee stop is a good idea. Double espresso and Up All Night.

By the way I am in Las Vegas at a trade show and have not seen a single Mini. I guess timing really is everything.

Randy & Brian have been invited but will decide that day, as they may be too tired from all those installs. But many of us will be at the PP to encourage and/or pester them to come.

Yea, I should be able to make dinner. I have my niece's 1st b-day that day, but that should be over in time for me to jam down to the city. Do we have those dinner details setup? I still need to get this posted at GCM... I've been so busy the last few days! I'll get an email sent out and update GCm site!

I think that we (MINI Community) owe Randy a beer anyway... hopefully those guys can make it!

Too bad we couldn't push this back a little... we're expecting our cabrio June 11th! That'd be great to send the cabrio on it's first voyage through the dark streets of SF...

So, should this thread be officially named Nikki Run #7

I have seen all these new logos for the 'color' owers club. Anyone have the Pure Silver one?

Yes. It's fine to have the club called the Maverick Mini's but then runs need to be the Nikki runs. That way some day we will be doing the Nikki run # 1,000
