Highway 9 run after thoughts

Last night some of my friends and I installed my Rspeed rear swaybar. After the installation I wanted to test out my new mod so we decided to head over to highway 9 near Saratoga at about 12am.

This was my first time on hwy 9 and I thought the roads were very good. It's a 2 way road with 2 lanes. The way up we were going pretty hard and we took at a break at the top of the mountain where we saw another car at the top.

Overall it was really nice twisties that weren't too "hair pin-ie" but still a good amount of nice turns  except for the camry that wouldn't pull over on our way down.

Those damn Camry's. My cousins and grandparents used to live in Felton so I have fond memories of Hwy 9. I haven't done it in my MINI, though, so I will have to make a detour sometime on my way home.

You should have joined us on the Nikki Run #2 in October. We had a nice spirited ride up highway 9, over to Boulder Creek, and out to Santa Cruz.

Maybe you could make it next month because we need more CR/W representation in the group .

Dan,
Did you notice the lack of understeer after the swaybar was installed?? I installed an Alta swaybar last month and it made world of difference by making the car much more neutral.

I also use highway 9 as my test track (it's my commute!) and I'm still getting used to the throttle lift induced oversteer that is caused by the bigger swaybar.

Brian,

I think I saw you in Boulder Creek today. I was going the opposite direction with some Vettes, Porsches, WRX STis, etc. It was near the end of the Doc Wong run I was on today.

Tom,
How was Doc Wong's clinic? I hope you didn't take any crap from those STIs

So YOU'RE the guy who outbid me at the last minute!
Should be getting mine in a few days - looking forward to practicing with it before Laguna Seca.

Hwy 9 is a great road. It's even better on the Santa Cruz side to Boulder Creek. Lots of very nice sweepers.
On the other hand, if you want to induce a kidney transplant, and experience many very tight turns, you can try Bear Creek Road. :impatient One day they'll repave the Santa Cruz side, but I'll probably have to get a doctor's permit to drive by then...

I did most of the work on the swaybar. Damn you and your lack of tools.
Those girls in Camry looked like they watched too much Initial D, afterall they were taking "the line."

Creeker: I noticed that there was MUCH less body roll after installing the swaybar. The bar is set at the middle setting btw because we couldn't get it to fit on the softest setting (lol?).

Oh and I wanted to go to the nikki run #3 but I had a brain fart and mixed up the times. I'll be looking forward to the next run

Eric: I'm sorry about the auction, but I did notice they posted another one right after the auction so hopefully you got that one

No apologies necessary - it's a dog eat dog world.
Besides, I got the next one for $130 - thanks, you saved me $16!

Hmm, it'll be interesting to see if I can get into the softest setting. Otherwise, guess I just have to make sure I don't lift!
