MTH Install Party

Is there much interest in doing an MTH ECU upgrade party? I am planning on upgrading my MCS soon, and would be willing to share my cable and host the party if there people are interested in doing this. Let me know if you are interested and we can put something together soon! If you want more info on the MTH upgrade read this thread:

I just did my software upgrade today and I love it. Franz at MTH is a miracle worker. There is talk that the price is going to go up soon on the software, so if you are thinking about it or are on the fence I would hurry up and get it!

So where do I need to go to get the software?

Will he modify it when I change cold air intake to M7's new one ... if so is it free on the mod?

thanks

Read my website for info:
http://www.littlemini.us/technical/mth/index.asp

Programming is free once you buy the software.

Richard

P.s. We're doing an MTH party as well. The only trouble is that to do it right, you need to meet twice, which makes getting together as a group hard.

If you talk to Franz and arrange a specific time he will work on your files at once. So you will have the new files back within an hour or two. Just don´t forget about the different time zones otherwise he might be a bit sleepy and send you files for the MINI Diesel .

Hey schlick, just ran across this post--did an MTH party ever happen?

I have a serial cable and my Cartune file, but am not confident in my computer (XP) skills or setup and would like help getting this program...I'll mention it on the MTH thread too...

Interesting that you encountered the same thing--we had very little interest for our party as well--which was also cancelled.

That's too bad...it's a pretty easy upgrade and much safer from a warranty standpoint then a pulley upgrade( dealer warranty refusal stuff ).

Schlick, I'd like to try this out. I missed the thread as I see it's been here for awhile. You still down to hook a couple of people up. How much? What do I do?

I think it would have to be a two parter because you will need to download your file first and then upload the file to franz and then upload the returned file to your car.

On the other hand, I don't think I live too far from you so if you want to try it sometime..

Hey, there's a new pulley removal tool out there that eliminates the need to remove the tensioner, which Is the PIA part of the whole install. I'm doing mine after I get the M7 intake for sure. I'll let you when, just in case you wanna come by and help figure out where engine re-attaches to the chassis j/k.

Okay, I am down for that. As far as the engine just like for the silver things under the hood!

Off topic, I changed the oil last week and the only hard part was getting the canister back on. Otherwise, a piece of cake.

I'm still more than willing to help anyone who needs/wants it with the MTH. I have the cable and have done the upgrade already to my car, works wonders let me tell you.

I got my pulley put on at Bay Bridge Motors it was $180 with the NorCal MINIs discount. Just another option!

Let me know if any of you guys want to set something up, we can probably email Franz ahead of time and set it up to get the files back right away so we aren't waiting for them.

Schlick,

where are you located? I'd love help. If its easier for you, we could set up with Franz a certain time to send him our files, and download/load within hopefully a couple of hours....

SF james, are you in for this? I have Wednesdays, Fridays, most weekends....
