We are going up Chico way in June. Breakfast in Oroville at the Waffle Shop then up Feather River Canyon past Lake Almanor and maybe up Mt.Lassen . Then we head to Chico and dinner at the Sierra Nevada Brewery . Lots of little towns to stop at along the way. Leaving from Starbucks in Chico at 9am( 2009 Forest Ave, Chico, Ca, 95928). We will take Honey Run Rd. up to Paradise for Breakfast at 10am ( Country Waffles 5478 Feather River Place, Paradise, Ca). At 11am we will leave Paradise and head to the Feather River Canyon. We will stop at small towns along the way for breaks and photo ops. After a stop for lunch we will head up Mt Lassen. From there we will head down Hwy 32 to Chico and dinner at the Sierra Nevada Brewery around 7pm. If you live in the area and want to join us for all or part of the ride come along you don't have to be a member . I'll prerun it the week before so things are subject to change blah blah blah.

Some people are heading up Friday night do they want to get together and go as a group? Saturday morning one group will head north on 99 from the Salida area, they should leave at 7am and be north of Sacramento at around 815am. Another out of the Eastbay from the Starbucks in Pleasanton on Hopyard at Ingelwood leaves at 7am. This group will also make a stop at the Cordelia Junction (Pittman Rd) off of Hwy 80 just east of 680) at 745 to meet anyone up that way. Both groups should meet up where Hwy 70 leaves 5/99 north of Sacramento at 815am or so . From there stay on 70 north to Paradise and breakfast. Any further requests? Anyone for Salida if so we need a meetup spot.

 

We preran this on Saturday. The roads where in great shape. Lots of flowers and green trees. The Pine Cone drive-in in Chester makes a great pit stop for lunch, they must have 50 kinds of milkshakes. Still snow on Mt Lassen.

 

I just found out I have to labor in the public service this weekend . I have maps made up for the way up, the run, and the way home. If anyone thats going up Friday night wants to meet me to pick them up somewhere between Oakland and Dublin tonight or Friday during the day give me a call on the cell 510-919-8889. I'll bring the maps to the Saturday morning meetup in Pleasanton.

 

Sorry to say that I will not be going on this run either as my Father in Law
is in the hospital recovering from surgery and I have to get my Mother in Law back and forth to visit him
