After waiting 3 hours at the dealer yesterday, they told me that they can't figure out why my CVT is stalling. I left mad, frustrated and thinking that I might have to invoke the lemon law and have BMW replace the car (3rd service for stalling, still no fix). All day, I was thinking of how I'd have to un-do all my mods (to put the goodies in a new MINI), pick another color (no more Silk Green!!), and seriously consider whether to go back to driving a manual transmission). I was hating my car!!!

After work I drove to my best friend's house 30 minutes away. It was drizzling all day and the roads were slick. I was on a 3 lane highway that has left-side exits. I was in the left lane doing about 65, when the car ahead of me in the middle lane decides that he wants to take the exit. Without warning, he jerks his car into my lane, aiming for the exit ramp. I mashed the brakes, held tight to the wheel and somehow managed to slow and swerve around him just in time. I swear that if I had been in any other car, I would have definitely crashed. The MINIs ABS were amazingly responsive, the stock all-season Continentals held onto the slippery road, and the tight steering kept me in my lane the whole time. I was loving my car again!!

Even if it takes 10 more trips to the dealer, I'm not giving up on my MINI. That car is a life saver!!

Glad to hear that the ABS performed well for you...as frustrating as your CVT problem may be, stay with it and much luck to ya. :smile:

 

Sorry you've been having so many problems with your baby. Glad you were able to avoid the crash. My MINI handles so well it was a bit scary at first (my old Corolla was all over the road) but I really came to appreciate and enjoy it.

Hopefully they'll be able to fix your problem. I'd hate for you to have to give up that beautiful silk green monster

BTW: I met you at the Prestige MINI Valentine's day get-together. I was with my twin sister. Jim Finnegan took a picture of us with your friend. Did you get your MINI from them?

 

minimojo!! How you doin' girl?? Meeting you and your sister was the best part of that cold Prestige day. Sorry we bailed out after that. We just weren't up to a scavenger hunt in an area we didn't know that well. Hope to see you at another gathering (this Sunday in New Milford, CT? <<<hint, hint). And no, I didn't get my car from Prestige. I got it from Princeton. But they don't have any fun events, so I gotta crash the other NJ dealer parties :smile:
