anyone up for some curvy roads up in Bear Mtn, NY? As an avid motorcyclist i've been dying to put my MC thru its paces (had it since 7/13, sadly haven't had the chance to really push it). I was thinking meeting up at Perkins Drive and then motoring about along say 301 or so? Any takers?

Yes, I've driven up to Bear Mountain on numerous occasions now. It's an amazing ride that the Cooper gobbles up. You can ride the corners at perilous speeds and the car just HOLDS THE LINE. Inspirational. It's such an enjoyable ride that I will often impulsively motor there and back just to kill a few hours of delight. Let's plan a caravan up there some Sunday soon!

Not sure. Actually, I'm hoping someone else can post directions. I'm about an hour south from the 287 NJ/NY border. I haven't been to Bear Mountain in about 15 yrs.

We could go from Nyack to Bear Mountain or meet on Palisades some place and drive up We could meet at the westchester mini dealer cross the TZ bridge or meet in Mahwah dealer and go up thruway to rt 6 and then over to Bear mt. The palisades is a nice route. Come on guys think!!!!!!!

the whole area north of NYC (both sides of the hudson) is filled with killer roads and places to go (i know cause i love to drive/ride)
all we have to do is pick a date, place and time to meet and then we can "wing it" from there (that's what my friends and I do on the motorcycles and it works)
btw: I have a problem with unflexable plans

all could meet near silvermine ski area then take seven lakes drive towards bear mountain over bearmountain across the bridge over 6/202 (great twisties) down route 9 to route 403 down 403 to route 9D up 9D to snake hill rd , up snake hill to route 9. up 9 to 301 and take 301 to carmel for lunch or something like that. all great twistie roads .

all the roads in the area are great (both sides of the hudson)
but this time of year, parts of 7 lakes drive are closed
and i think they closed rt218 (the mt . road) for the winter
but there is still plenty of kool roads in the area (endless amounts)
we need to set a date and place to meet
btw: i've been thinking about driving the Hawk's nest and that area, as well

if we take this ride we need a meeting place and then some sort of a game plan
Do you motorcycle people stop when you get to some place?
I say we start some place on Palisades and go to Bear mt then from there go over Bear mt bridge to cold spring. Stop for lunch and come back. Hows that . How bout Ground hog day Feb 2. another route would be around storm king mt.

OK The official Date is Feb 2
Now Time???
Starting areas are need If you are coming from NYC go over george Washing ton Bridge and go up Palisades. If you are comming from Westchester go over TZ and get on palisades from Thruway. If you are coming from Northern NJ get on Thruway towards TZ bridge anmd get on Palisades North. Simple
Actually now that I think of it Anthony Wayne parking lot is a great place off Palisades to meet.

What do you guys think of that???????????
momentum ops:

meet on the PIP at the gas sation/commuter lot
then hop off and take 9W to the bear mt. bridge
after lunch in cold spring, you continue on till the newburg/becon bridge and come back down over storm king (i think rt218 is closed)
