Isn't there a nice sized scenic overlook parking lot on the Palisades just a few miles north of the GW Bridge? Could be a great meeting/photo op.

OK Guys sorry for the long message. Perhaps this is clearer:


Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, Harriman, NY

Exit 17 on the Palisades Interstate Parkway - this IS Anthony Wayne Recreation Area. (This is 15 miles North of NY Thruway Exit 13N (PIP North), and 1/2 mile North of the Harriman Park Information Center in the center island of PIP, and 4 miles South of Bear Mountain. ) Meet in the first parking lot. From Bergen County allow 30 to 40 minutes.


Bear Mountain, NY Parking Area Entrance

Take Palisades Interstate Parkway North and follow signs to Bear Mountain. At the end of the Parkway, enter the roundabout and take the first exit onto US-9W South/US-202 South. Follow the signs to the Bear Mountain Lodge parking area on your right. We will meet at the entrance of the parking area.

 

should get to cold spring by going over the bear mtn bridge and going right onto 6/202 ( nice twisties for a few miles) then head north on rt 9 to either 403 or snake hill rd down to rt 9d then north on 9d to cold spring. eat either at the Station or East Side Kitchen or Hudson house. Station may be best as it's the most Pub like and directly at the bottom of main street in cold spring.

 

This sounds good. So lets all meet at Anthony wayne parking lot head to bear mt stop and then go on to cold spring. Its an awsome ride.

Hmmm....I know I originally suggested Feb 2nd but I found out I have a lunch to go to...Hopefully you guys will pick a different day!

 

Sounds like fun. I'll have to check, but for now, I'm in too. Hudson House would be great, with some great picture taking opportunities on the hudson!! They also have a great brunch. It may be kinda pricey though, if thats an issue. I hope you can make it Greatgro. I guess you cant reschedule the lunch?

I was thinking the same thing
Rockland lake is a good idea (which parking lot #?)
9W is much better then the PIP

 

So, what are the final plans? Will someone post an update, possibly a new thread? I plan on going. How many others are attending? I notice mostly MCS's, will there be any other non-S Coopers? I live in South Salem, NY. And, I have 2 radios at home that we could use.
