For those interested...just received an email from the Parts Mgr. over at New Country Mini/BMW. He just returned from a seminar/conference in regards to the new mini releases and he spoke directly to the mgr. of the cradle (for the armrest snap-in) The new cradle for the 5/5s iphone will be available next month!

 

Great! Just in time for the iPhone 6!

Will this fit the iPod Touch 5?

 

Not sure...If the physical size is identical to the 5Iphone, I would thinks so...

My Parts Mgr. is pretty reliable...can't necessarily say that for the supplier he talked to.

When I bought the Countryman in 2011, they only had the i phone 3 cradle and it took well over a year before the 4 cradle was out and then several efforts experimenting with every release..until one finally did all it's suppose to.

 

Only took 1 1/2 years. And we still don't have a working lightning cable solution. Not sure why this takes so long from a company that strides itself on being so technologically savvy.

I actually have the Samsung Note 3...and love it. The 4s is in the armrest cradle mainly for music...even as my usage continues with the note 3 and I continue to learn to transfer music over from the i phone the note streams music beautifully for bluetooth. Still can use maps and send to car through the iphone...best of both works...

 

Anyone have the part #'s? I've also read that the mini y adapter with lightning is coming. The part #'s are out there now.

 

Justo to let you know, my brother yesterday just picked up his new bmw 4 serie cabrio with all the option concerning connected etc...
The funny thing is that with the last version of bmw software his iphone 5 works perfectly just with the apple cable. Covers, playlist and everything else.
No bmw cable or snap in needed.

I just want a cradle that the iPhone 5 will fit in as opposed to hanging off the end, you'd think that making a piece of plastic wouldn't require 2 years!
