Care to provide some more info? Do you have the MINI Connected app installed? Have you updated the MINI Connected app in the MINI?

Are you just trying to use the Plug-In feature of MINI Connected or are you trying to do video in motion? Are you trying to fully mirror the display to your head unit?

A little more information would help us to identify your issue...

I successfully got both an iPhone 4 and iPad 3 working with mirroring. The iPad was easy since it's on 7.0.4 which can be jailbroken and DisplayOut is compatible. The iPhone 4 I'm using is on 7.1.1 so I had to use the tethered jailbreak, and then modify DisplayOut to allow to install on 7.1.1. I'm not sure if installing DisplayOut on a firmware it's not compatible with will cause any problems, so I guess I'll found out.

this is great find. I was able to do everything and also activate the Dashcmd, so I dont have to use my ipad anymore for that. still haven't able to get it to stay on landscape mode on the screen yet. but I do notice is that when the iphone connect to the cable, you would have to hit the little refresh button to refresh the springboard to activate.

 

I am just wondering if anyone has gotten this to work on the F56? It appears that there is no plugin option.

 

I would suggest asking in one of the F56 threads... This one is for the R60 Countryman. We're not playing with the F56 so you won't get an answer to that here...

Hello I already have the jail brake and de displayout working, with an iPhone 4 IOS 7.1.2 my problem is not the video, it´s de audio, I try to play a video previously recorded with de iphone, the video comes out fine, but with out sound..... anyone??

 

I just purchased 2014 clubman production date 11/13. I have to say driving a BMW for so many years and to adding a mini to my garage is awesome This car is so much fun to drive. I also just realized they no longer carry the Clubman and now offer the 4 door, which makes mine a collectors item! Lol. I love it!!! It has navigation with BMW apps. Included with the car was the iPod connector with the audio pin that had 2 rings. Confirmed it's not working to allow video in fact it only recognized it as external device and played music only. I ordered the the video/audio cable with 3 rings and also a media snap in adapter to see if I can get video to play. I am waiting on the parts to come in Monday. I have 3 phones to try with that are all jailbroken and loaded with displayout and SBrotator app. Iphone 3, 4 and 4s. The snap in adapter media cradle I got is compatible with the 4 and the 4s. The iPhone 3 I will only be able to test it with the audio/ video cable via the USB port. I have already coded Video in motion to the Headunit. I will keep you guys posted when I get the parts this Monday. eBay is your friend.

Iphone 4 IOS7.1.2 Jailbroken using displayapps and sbrotator7

Works on both external device and as a plugin...The plugin has to be fiddled with to make it mirror the iphone but when i connect the phone from external device it plays the movie videos without having to mirror the iphone....I have coded video in motion myself so it works while the car is in drive...This external connection is so much easier to play videos....While the other way plugin I do get to use other apps on the phone as it is mirror of the iphone. SO indeed you need the following cable to make it work and it part#61122179623 which the dealers have discontinued so these cables are rather rare as the replacement one has only two rings on the audio looking plug....Get it while its still available...Today I saw one still for sale for $67 on ebay, although I got a great deal on mine which I paid 20 bucks for...

The usb cable supplied from the dealer 61120440812 will NOT WORK

Are u sure you have this part number? Look at the little triangle piece in middle of the y adapter. It has the part number on it

Tonight I was able to use the media snap in adapter to play movies and videos. The mirroring of the iPhone 4 was not possible at all with the snap in adapter. The only way I could mirror the iPhone 4 was via the y adapter.

I will now just leave the iphone in the snap in adapter and use it strictly for playing videos and music as an external device rather than a plugins because its concealed in the center armrest. I have no need to mirror the iphone since there is no phone service to that phone. I have an Iphone 6 that is hooked up for BT and it can also BT stream the music with it so I have the best of both worlds. I have all the funcitonality I want. If I ever turn on service for my iphone 4 then I can mirror the image via the Y adapter but I highly doubt it since I love my Iphone 6!

ok! so here is what I've tried so far iPhone 5s and mini connected cradle for arm rest, never had any success with video....bought a Kivic one to exspensive and difficult to set it up, needed to many other items....sold all of it. Bought an iPhone 4s and different mini connected cradle to fit new phone, by the way this is for an r58 jcw 2014. Could anyone just run through a standard procedure to get it to mirror and work with arm rest cradle, I would like to run movies nav. audio, etc while car is moving...please note video viewing is for passenger only...phone has iOS 8.1.1. not jail broken yet but have seen how this is done on you tube...with 8.1.1...

 

New to all this, got phone4s jailbroken using TiaG for IOs8.1.2 (which is my problem) Display out will not work. I have Sbrotator but thats as far as i have gotten.

Any help or alternatives to the commonly listed apps?

 

Just an update. It looks like a recent cydia mobilesubstrate update broke displayout. I was not able to get it to mirror again until I downgraded back to this:

You can download on the iphone via safari and install via ifile.

I need some help. The mirroring is not working in my paceman (r61).
I have downgraded and jailbroken my iphone 4 to ios 6.1.2 and i have the y-cable with the number (2 179 623-01) on the triangle.
The version of the mini software is MX-003.004.031.
I downloaded all tweaks from cydia but its not working. I even renamed ipodout with iFile..
Can anyone tell me what the problem is?
