I'm also waiting for DICE/Nav integration. Keep in mind that Tom and EAS are a retailer and there is not much they can do beyond waiting for DICE the manufacturer to produce the solution.

Tom, my car has nav as well. Am I able to totally disable the text function and still play the ipod through my stereo?

A standard DICE kit. No need for HD for me.

Thanks

We will only need the module for reflashing - the wiring can remain in place. Typically, this is a very quick turnaround or a replacement can be sent in advance so there is no downtime.

We're quite a bit more than a simple retailer with DICE, we're involved in the development/testing process for their BMW/MINI program.

We're been doing the iPod thing for almost 5 years now.

Tom, I think you skipped over my response to your question.

Can you tell me the price for standard dice kit w/ all the wiring, for the GP.

THANK YOU!

It depends - do you have plans for MINI Sirius in the future? If not, the radio interface kit would be best for you:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW (Radio Interface R40)
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=660

If not, you will need our Prewiring kit to essentially "prep" the vehicle for a CD Changer package:

MINI CD Changer Prewiring kit
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=622

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Bravo Adam. Thank you for helping me with my Dice Module. If any of you, meaning potential customers go with the Dice. This unit is very easy to install. A must for any Ipod freak.

I have a 2007 Cooper Convertible and am interested in the DICE kit. Unfortunately, you only list compatibility us through 2006. I was told the audio system in my car is identical to the 2006 model. Has anyone installed the DICE kit in a 2007 with any luck?

Yes, the MY07 Convertible is still compatible. Here's the kit you need:

Uh-oh. I also have a MY07 Convertible (MCS), and I ordered this kit:

http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=608

Did I get the wrong one? I've had it for about a week but have not installed it, yet. Will this one not work?

Thanks,
Felix

Felix,

You're ok - we've heard some reports of some MINI convertibles not being prewired for a CD Changer. If you cannot locate the connectors in the boot, we have a different connector you can use for a radio interface kit.

Look for the connectors first, if you cannot locate them - we'll move to plan B.

Oh, okay. So it's just the CD changer thing. I thought there was some other new issue I hadn't read about.

Thanks, I'll let you know if I don't have them.

Tom, i'm interested in upgrading to the DICE kit from the standard Icelink Plus module. I also want to get XM Satellite, (Mostly because it seems like the Sirius kit is close to 3x the cost , but also because they're merging, so it'll soon be the same thing). Could you advise me as to cost and what the best course of action would be? My car does have a Navigation, so i'm activly following the progress on the nav equipped cars. Feel free to use my car as a test mule if it'll get things done faster! . I have a 2006 btw...

Good news is that we can offer the upgrade for the ice>Link Plus to DICE and retain your existing wiring. This cuts the install time in half. XM can easily be added at the same time.

Here are the items you need:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW - *UPGRADE*
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=283

XM Direct Satellite Radio Package for BMW & Mini
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=267

Both of these are in stock. If ordered tomorrow, you can have them befoer the weekend!

I'd like to take a trip down to your store actually if you guys have time on Friday. I can pick up the parts then, and answer quite a few questions. Install time isn't really a concern with the DICE kit, it took me about 5 minutes to install the kit into the trunk and string the wire to the front of the car. I'd also like to get a cradle (With the appropriate proclip mount), as the kit I have now is just a plug.

As for the XM, I'd rather not have a wired antenna for XM on my roof, are there any alternatives to this? (Tapping into the factory Nav Antenna maybe?). I'd need help with the install on this, i'm not confident enough to rip my headliner out. I assume the DICE upgrade I need is the one for navigation...

Any news on the fix for Navigation? I don't want to lose functionality of my Navigation just to listen to my iPod . My major gripe with the Icelink Plus is the delay between song changes (3-5 seconds at times), I understand this is vastly improved with the DICE. Text display is a secondary concern.

*Edit*
Scratch Friday, other plans already, but I would like to stop by your shop at some point :-)

I have been following this for a while and now just installed my DICE unit in my '03 MCS with CD based NAV. I also had bought an '06 stock head unit on ebay and put that in at the same time. Just so everyone is aware, the text displayed perfectly on the radio display and the NAV was completely unaffected.
