I popped AC/DC Back In Black into mine while it still sat in the showroom - It was the first HK many of the folks there had heard and it drew a large crowd. After a little burn-in and playing with the equalization settings, it almost sounds as good as the Bose system in my 02 Altima.

The 1st song MUST be "Columbus" by Mary Black.

Since I am picking my MINI up sometime this week,

First disc will be Meat Loaf's "Bat Out Of Hell 2" because the car drives like a...!

And then I'll put in UB40's "Labour of Love II" because the past 50 weeks of waiting/drooling has been a... !

Self-burned.
First songs are Victor Wooten's "Me and My Bass Guitar" and "Classical Thump"
Also DVDA's "Now You're a Man!"

The Wooten songs were UN-BE-LIEVABLE for testing the h/k speaker setup...the DVDA was great to hear the trebs in Matt Stone's voice as he tone-bends "maaaaa-yooooonn-uh"

Probably a mix of tracks:

Meatloaf: Bat Out Of Hell
Meatloaf: Paradise By The Dashboard Lights

and one I'll borrow from my brother:

Phish: Contact

The tires are the things on your car
That make contact with the road
The car is the thing on the road
That takes you back to your abode

The tires are the things on your car
That make contact with the road
Bummed is what you are
When you go out to your car and it's been towed

I woke up one morning in November
And I realized I love you
It's not your headlights in front
Your tailpipe, or the skylight above you
It's the way you cling to the road
When the wind tries to shove you
I'd never go riding away
And come back home without you

Moby "18". Nice, modern, minimalistic, urban, techno. Just like my new MINI and the drive from the downtown dealer to my downtown house.

Nice choice. I think that may be a definite consideration for me, as well.

I think for me I will have to first add some tracks that cause me to grin in the same strange way the Mini does. At the risk of sounding cornball or like a rip off artist... Chris & Tad, POUSA, Weezer, Dust bros. and for good measure I'd definitely toss in some DMB, Victor Wooten, Bela Fleck, Beatles, Fountains Of Wayne...as well as borrowing a few of everyone else's ideas...with the exception of the Mr. Roboto.

What about One Week by Barenaked Ladies, or do you have to be driving a Mitzibishi for that?

Probably these:

Our Blur compilation CD
"500 (Shake Baby Shake)" by Lush (song actually about a Fiat 500)
Some kind of Genesis

and a bunch of other stuff, it's a 3-hour drive from the dealership to home....

The first song to grace my MC's speaker was Ozzy's "Mama I'm coming home." After the long wait, I really was coming home, and with a nice addition to the family .

Being a Jersey girl it would have to be Springsteen... Born to Run.

Seems appropriate.

Electric Blue with White Top, White Rims, White Bonnet Stripes, Harmon Kardon:

Just after I got it, I went on a road trip and brought:

Radiohead - Kid A, OK Computer
Kruder & Dorfmeister - Sessions Part 1
James Brown - Top 20 Greatest Hits
Bjork - Vespertine, Homogenic
Erykah Badu - Mama's Gun
Jill Scott - Who Is Jill Scott?
Mark Farina - Mushroom Jazz 4
etc.

The bass sounded excellent with K&D Sessions and Jill Scott's album.
