Thank you to all for your help. Idownloaded V28, it worked. For the heck of it I tried to download V27.1 and to my surprise, it worked as well. But, now I'm reading in yards and not feet. I suspect I have a British version because I'm now getting great gas mileage. Anyone know how to get my feet back? Also, I can not enable the perspective view, under map position I have only the standard two choices, north or the direction of travel. Any help here would be appreciated, too.

Sounds like the version of v28 I have is the International version which has now changed your car to yards isntead of feet. I've been running like this since spring and it doesn'tbother me.

In order to fix that cost $ at the dealer as they much recode your Nav unit. I will try and make sure I get the Us version of V28.

 

Uh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you 'upgrade' to a downrev version of Nav, you supposedly go in to 'no location' mode, giving you yards instead of feet, and imperial vs US gallons. It's been said that the only way to get back to US is to have the dealer reprogram the Nav.

 

Thanks, if mdsbrain can get the US version great! Otherwise I'll skip the dealer recode and save some money by getting better gas mileage.

 

So did you load V28, then V27.1, then V28 again? Or V27.1 then V28? Inquiring minds want to know.

 

No I think you misread what he wrote. It sounds to me like he installed V28, then installed V27.1. Since he did a downgrade, that is why his Nav is in no-location mode.

I don't think you have the "international" version of V28, I think there is only one version to begin with, and it keeps your location to whatever it is already set to (unless you downgrade).

 

I installed v28, then being curious I installed the v27.1 since I was having so much trouble with it and got better gas mileage instantly. I then reinstalled v28 but I'm in the no location mode and still read in yards.

 

Frank, so the yards reading (and total lack of legal accept screen) happened with the direct upgrade to v28? (i.e. no downgrading) And you're sure that it wasn't that way right before?

If so, I stand corrected - perhaps the V28 update available now is an "international" one.

 

I'm not sure, I was so excited that v28 worked that I threw in v27.1 before I noticed feet or yards. Sorry. But I do know that v28 downloaded and worked better than v27.1.
