Navigation & Audio iPod adapter
Good easy question
You simply pull the radio out of it console, not completely, with no need to disconnect any wireing, until you can reach behind it with your hand, to connect the cable from the interface box which has a cable running to the Ipod .The primary unit is a small white box, 2 x 3 inches (referred to as the protocol converter) and usually is located in the glove box, so you can have easy access to switch modes and so the cable from the protocol converter to the iPod (about 2 - 3 feet) allows you to position the iPod within easy reach or leave in the glove box. The protocol converter has a several small dip switches on the side - one of them controls the operating mode (Playlist versus Direct Control). When you change a setting the vehicle power must be off -- You will of course run the cable from the protocol box that is in your glove box thru a small hole that you drill into the back of the glove box, then feed that cable to the back of your head unit, so when you pull the head unit out, you can reach behind it from the front of the head unit console to connect the cable.
I hope this helps;

That should get you what you need, except for the glovebox. Try a search on 'glovebox' - I remember somebody posting about swapping out for an '05 keyed glovebox.

If you have a mode button on your head unit
Your dealer is incorrect if you have a mode button on your stereo head unit. If you have a mode button, the I-Wonder Ipod cable is compatible to with your head unit, without an adapter.

I always thought you could have either the Ipod adapter, blue tooth adapter, auxiliary input, or CD changer, but not all three. I thought they all used the same input for the radio.

A Ipod connection, that needs no adapter & has aux input!
A Ipod adapter only allows for the interface between your head unit and a Ipod connecting cable. It is the cable and it's design features that provide control. Look for a cable that is compatible with your head unit, the better ones do not reguire an adapter and plug directly into your head unit. You can view the I-Wonder Ipod cable features on www.advancednavigation.com/mini and on the I-Wonder product page. I-Wonder plugs directly into your head unit with no need for an adapter. It also has aux input for satilite radio, etc., and allows for direct Ipod control, or control from your head unit . If you scroll down to "Is the I-Wonder difficult to install?" click on "Click Here" to view or download a PDF doc of install instructions and wireing diagram.

Guys, after alot of research, Ive found that the Denison DICELINK is the latest replacement for the ICELINK Plus. They now have units that will work for Nav and non Nav Minis. As of the 1st, they have tested the units on Minis and have supposedly worked out all of the bugs. Bonus! The unit also gives you an extra aux input, for lets say your aftermarket satilite radio! According to deniso, the new unit will display track, artist, and allow you to use the Ipod directly or from the radio / steering wheel.
