Dead Pixels

So I just picked her up yesterday and it seems that I already have two dead pixels in the screen. If you look closely you can see a blue dot in the bottom right quarter of the screen and a pink one on the left edge in the bottom half:

How exactly does Mini deal with this issue? All I know is usually companies have to replace the screen. Is this a common issue?

Thanks!
-Nick

That would drive me crazy! I pay extra for my laptops to get a dead-pixel warranty. I have never heard of one through a car manufacturer though. I hope they don't take the view of most computer manufacturers/vendors - a certain acceptible percentage (usually 1%-3%) of dead or live pixels.

I doubt they will replace it. I would put up a fit though. Most pixel warrantys only cover a large number of dead pixels ... which is bogus IMO

I would ask them politely to replace the screen. If that didn't work, I'd demand they do it at the top of my lungs.

I had a dead pixel (green) in my NAV when I picked it up. The dealer replaced the screen under warranty. The only catch was that due to the expense of the screen, it required 2 service visits... one to visually verify the problem, only after which they would order the replacement screen. The second visit was of course to actually swap the screens out.

In my case, the 2 visits was not a big hassle, because I had them doing other things too. This would really suck for someone who lives a LONG way from the nearest dealer though!

In this case I think they will replace it. The 03 we had had dead pixels and they offered to replace it when we pointed it out (car sold before we got to it though).

I'd take it in as soon as possible to show them

yep

I had a dead pixel (actually it was green so its really called an always active pixel) anyways first time I took it in I don't think understood what I meant when I said I need to screen replaced so they replaced the NAV system itself. The second time I took it in they replaced the screen when I made it a bit more clear.
