cheapest place for Aux Input

does anyone know where I can get the Aux Input kit at the lowest price? Any NAM partner vendor still gives discounts?

Thanks!

shipping

thanks. Do you know how much the shipping would be for the kit alone from Classics?

When all is said and done, you will spend approximately $40 give or take a couple bucks.

But while you are at it, you should get the euro parcel shelf and add some great storage and a good spot to place whatever you are looking to use the aux input with. . .

drilling

i am leasing the car. Do I need to worry about any drill holes if I put the mp3 player on either the euro shelf or the glove box? I read some online instructions that talk about drilling for the front plate.

thanks again!

I drilled my aux input into the euro parcel shelf....since you're leasing, you could always put the knee bolster back in when the lease is up....although my parcel shelf took me an annoying while to get the screws to line up, so I wouldn't be looking forward to playing with the knee bolster, but maybe the screws line up easier

Since you are installing an OEM modification, I would not worry about drill holes in the glove compartment. Just leave the aux input there when you finish your lease. I doubt it would even be noticed.

It may take a few tries to get the screw holes to line up just right for the knee bolster or euro shelf, but it is still a very easy thing to do.

The stock knee bolster doesn't use screws. That's why you needed to buy screws with the parcel shelf. Swapping back (so you can use the parcel shelf with your next MINI) is easier than the original install.

I just payed $31.96 from Jayson at Classic MINI plus $9.00 shipping along with a glove box organizer.

I originally installed it in the glove box thinking that it would be nice to have it hidden out of the way. After the first five minutes I realized this was not good because when using my mp3 player I like to skip through songs a lot. I needed it to be much more accessible.

I then installed it in the center of the little access panel under the toggle switches and am much happier with it. The player can just sit on the center console tray or on the passenger seat where I can easily reach it. Then it can be quickly unplugged and locked away in the glove box when I park.

It is just a simple little shelf with dividers that slips into the glove box to help organize it a little better. There is one spot that fits the owner's manual just right and some other little spots to keep other items from sliding around in there during spirited driving. They are available through MINI and also I believe there are several aftermarket ones available. The MINI one lists for $32.00 but Classic MINI has it for $25.60. It does what it is intended to do really well and I am very happy with it.

Where are they located? I see you are in Chardon, Ohio and I will be back home in early May for daughters wedding. Would love to visit a Mini store (never know what you might 'have' to have. I will be in the Fairfield, N. Cinci area.

Thanks,
