Hello everyone:

I started to notice a rattle coming from above the navigation system (from the dash center vent) area. Anyone experiencing the same thing? I did a search with no luck. Thanks in advance

 

This is the infamous 'dash rattle'. Mine does this too (and drives me nuts!) and the next time my car goes in for it's 'free service' I'll have them take care of it. Many cars (earlier builds mostly) have this, and it's fixed by removing the dash pad and adding felt tape to areas inside the dash where the plastic understructure is retained by the metal bracing.

 

The rattle is coming from the pin which guides the dash into position when attaching to the body. I had it in my 03 and I am now starting to get in my 05 MSC. My car is scheduled for its first dash rattle.........hmmm I mean my first oil service very soon. I will get the tech to fix it. In my 03 they stuffed foam under the dash and it seemed to work fine. They'll probably do the same. I guess its one of the things we have to live with.
