Completed my Subwoofer install!

Here's my install in my 2008 R56. I've had this subwoofer/amp combo Rockford Fosgate P2D4-10/P3000.1 for over 5 years. Didn't want to spend more money and get a shallow sub, which would have saved me much more space (about 3"). Anyways here are the pics. Also, I have a german shepherd that travels with me so I had to make this box with him in mind lol.

Nice! That will sound much better than a shallow sub anyway. I need to clean my setup up a bit.

I haven't done much research on shallow subs....so even though they're smaller in depth, you give up quality? Well then I'm really glad I didn't spend any money on it lol.

Oh yea, they never sound as good as a full sub. There are some excellent sounding ones, like the JL 13TW-5. But even that is blown away by the 10W6 in SQ and DB, and it's 3" smaller! I have 3 shallow 10's in my truck totaling 1000w RMS, they can't even come close to the single 10" Alpine Type-X in my MINI.

Horse poop...

The JL Audio 10tw 3 10" flat sub in a prototype ported box, powered by a JL Audio dx300.1 sounds freaking great... It pounds.

I'm not disagreeing you with. The JL flat subs sound great. That sub absolutely kills it and takes down many full size 10's. It will probably beat the OP's P2D4, but it's also over twice the price of that Fosgate. When compared to an equivalent power full depth sub of the same quality, the full sub will beat it every time. You just get more room to work with and more excursion on a full sub.
