According to the pdf of 05 options on MotforingFile, Siris is not listed as an option?

...you can save a lot by getting a PnP Sirius player (Audiovox, etc.) at an electronics store. If you don't mind having a second unit in the car (as opposed to the clean, integrated dealership look), it's the way to go. I bought one, installed it in about 5 minutes, and I can take it from the car to the house too. I love it! The Sirius programing is great, makes DC traffic a little less stressful.

If you do decide that's the way to go, I hear that there's a smaller, cooler-looking Blaupunkt unit coming out. Might be worth the wait. If not, the Audiovox unit (which I have) has an orange backlight, nearly the same color as the MINI lighting.

The satellite radio has always been installed by the dealer, but if I remember right the price in the dealer options list was the final price that the dealer charged. But that is still more than at one of the chain stores like Circuit City, but it will be covered by warranty. Chill out, life's too short:smile:

As said elsewhere it's a dealer option and thus isn't listed on the factory options sheet. Yes the price is a little higher installed through the dealer but it's actually come down $100 over the past six months.

No Sirius!!

I bought a '03 MCS 18 mos ago with a factory GPS system and at that time they told me that Sirius wasn't available due to the different types of antennas, but they assured me the Mini was working on a "fix" for the problem. I just popped into the dealer the other day and what do ya know? No fix! They said that any system I installed would need to be strictly aftermarket and wouldn't run through my exsisting radio, (except for the sound). So I went to a local audio dealer and they installed an XM system. I gotta say. It's sooo much nicer than I thought it would be! If anyone's having the same issues I'd be glad to give you pics and more details.
