I just ordered a new iPhone 5s - upgrading from my old iPhone 3GS.

I already have the mini Y-cable for iPhone - plugs into my iPhone 3GS. Do i get a 30-pin to lightening adapter, or the new iPhone 5 mini cable?

I'm thinking the new Y-cable as it has both a lightening plug AND a head phone plug.

 

Looks like the iphone 5/5s y cable is not from mini?

Also reading a bit more, seems that just the USB to lightening cable will work?

 

I have a 13 R56 JCW with Connected, and use the Y Cable, with an Apple Lightning Adapter and my 5S works great. Make sure to use the Apple adapter, there have been problems with the generic ones. You will love that 5s, great phone.

 

30-pin to lightening adapter works fine, I've been using it since the 5 came out with no problems

Thanks all for the replies! I bought the 30-pin to lightening adapter, the 0.2m long one. The standard one would have not fit with my case.

Connects to my Mini no problems.

 

I have same but with nav/ mini connect and have been Dealing with mini/ BMW for 7 month or so trying to get the armrest adaptor with no success. Have tried two versions and nothing as BMW has not made one for it to work with everything just the music version is out. A lot of wasted time and money with no time line on it.
It's why I bought the nav and connect and such.
They still keep the money as it is a special order say $380 since January till it's made.
