R56 Cable Adapter + Bluetooth A2DP receiver adapter

Wondering if anybody has explored this option to incorporate A2DP bluetooth audio streaming by using the OEM Cable audio adapter and pairing that to a Bluetooth Apple A2DP receiver.

Seems it could work for its receiving power and audio ,but maybe I am missing a mapping issue of the cable or A2DP receiver.

Simple $20.00 fix seems like a plan if it works. Just odd that a 2013 R56 doesn't incorporate A2DP 2.0, big oversight.

Interesting question(!) I actually wrote a guide to accomplish this via straight AUX-IN, but the iPOD adapter method could be more interesting as there is a possibility to take advantage AVRCP and possibly be controlled through the steering wheel controls. I, actually, ordered one of those two days ago (for my girlfriend's Jetta) and it's on the way. There's a possibility I can test this as early as Tuesday.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the hardware that runs the phone bluetooth is suspected to have the capability of running A2DP. I suspect A2DP support was not included in the on chip flash ROM operating system as a way to get people to opt-in to a very expensive, and pretty useless (IMO), option.

Great. Sure will Be interested to get your feed back on the working capabilities of this option. The software AD2P 4.0 or 2.1 would be needed I assume from the receiver. Iphone 5 or newer is on 4.0.

Seems like a logical resolution to pairing Bluetooth without a cable interface !

Question is, does it work with the steering wheel controls? I might be stealing the girlfriend's, if so.

Thanks

Just received mine. I can confirm it doesn't work with the steering wheel controls . With all that said, I still recommend the other method for A2DP, I found the sound to be a pinch better, it will remember pairing with 10 different devices, and doesn't include the overhead of the ipod adapter. Disappointing, sad, but that's just the way it is.

Got my Receiver yesterday and works fantastic. Easily removable and great sound quality. I did some pretty intensive research on the Ad2p receiver units and the one I found was from a supplier who provided a review on iPhone vs Other(android) bluetooth phones. His comment that it all has to do with your bluetooth unit on your phone. Quality parts make a difference in Sq. simple $10 fix
