How to get my music to play from iPhone via Bluetooth?

I have been able to receive phone calls via my radio when driving which is tremendously convenient and safe, why can't I get my music to play through as well?

Thanks Mini community.

Regards,
Systemlord.

First question is what BT system do you have installed?

Hi,
I have a 2008 Cooper S and also have the factory BT system that let's you make and receive calls from your phone via BT. The reason why you can't play music via BT is because it only uses an older version of BT and does not support it. It's possible that an adaptor could be plugged in to the iphone connector to enable it.
If you find an adaptor that works let me know.
cheers,
Jim

Installed aftermarket BT systems are quite rare, and the OEM system even more rare. The OEM uses a separate keypad, and I believe the Parrot system does, too.
The system you have will determine the options you have (if any) to get music.

Has anyone had success playing music through the OEM Bluetooth system with an Android device?

the tune2air BT module works great in my MCS 2013. We connect Android an Apple devices with no problems.

Not new, but I just found it.
HTC Bluetooth Audio Adaptor, works w/ any bluetooth device, charges w/ micro-usb, 5-6 hrs of use or keep it plugged in. All the reviews seem good. $40-$60.

Had to do the same thing for my BMW. I got the Miccus BlueBridge: http://amzn.com/B0038MA11U

Works well for what I needed.

This has been discussed ad nauseum around here. The bluetooth in the basic and upgraded H/K audio systems will only handle phone calls (although it will also do turn-by-turn directions in Google Maps too). Only the MINI Connected option (with or without nav) will allow you to stream music wirelessly.

Yes, the fact that you can't stream music is well-established but I wasn't aware of these adapters. Will definitely be looking at picking one of those up. The car we traded on the Mini had a touchscreen system with streaming and jukebox storage so I'm missing that flexibility.

I basiclly got it for work, I drive for a living so it'll have a duel purpose for me, car & truck with one device, anything to save a buck or two for other car goodies.
