Integral Audio Soundstage and Sub!

Hi Gang!

Well I had been emailing Kevin about the Soundstage and reading all the posts. I have a 2009 R57 with the 6 speaker system and it sucks! I ordered his new system as soon as the email for pre-order came in and should be receiving one from the first batch. I am excited and will install it myself when it comes in. Should be a great Saturday project.

If anyone that lives in Bucks County Pennsylvania would like to see what it is like or hear it once installed, just let me know. I would be happy to share the experience. If anyone would like to assist or install together, I am very handy and willing to help a fellow Mini enthusiast. I have helped out my Corvette brothers in the past but have a Mini now. While I would love to photograph and document my install, I am not that organized or patient.

Wish me luck and I promise to follow up with first impressions!

Mark

I will provide a full report. Funny, went out for a spin today with the top down and realized just how much the stock stereo sucks! I end up listening to the exhaust and shutting off the radio. LOL!

Good luck. I just ordered the sub system and am anxious to install it and see what a difference it makes. I have the sucky 6 speaker system too. Looking forward to your progress with your install as I plan to add the Soundstage upgrade at a later date.

Sorry to hear that Redduc. I will do my best to post some pictures. I do know Kevin is expecting to have everything ready to ship next week and hopefully he will do so.

I already have the sub, and ordered the soundstage in the initial group also. Maybe all of us doing the install ourselves can post helpful hints for others. I will try to take some pictures also. My install will be a little different because I currently have the HK system.

If I'd have had the patience to wait, this is the route I'd have gone.

I no longer have any patience and just got lucky. I now can't wait till they ship!

I will do my best to take some pics and post tips. I am pretty handy but it has been a while since I installed car stereo gear. I will do my best to help any who request and look forward to finally listening to good sound in the car. Now, I need an aftermarket iPod USB device that works so I can really enjoy this. I have scoured the forums and not found any definitive answers.

Update. Well gang, my system has finally shipped and I hope to have it this weekend. If all goes well, I may even have time to install it. Can't wait and will do my best to update this thread.

Mine arrived yesterday while I was at work. Luckily, my electrician was here working and signed for it! I will open the box and take pics tonight. I am bummed because my vert is in the shops since Wednesday and they are replacing the top might not be done till Monday. I was going to install this weekend and have everything ready.

Ya beat me to the pics but that is what mine looks like also. I wish I could install it this weekend but it will have to wait until next week. Let me know how it goes as you install.

FedEx dropped off my sub kit yesterday. Might try to get it installed this weekend but Easter plans may slow me down.

So my dealer busted their hump to get my car back and I couldn't be happier. The new top looks great and I was racing home to begin installation but got an email from Kevin that he hasn't sent instructions yet. I checked the box and was surprised to find nothing in the box. He has been very helpful and I know it is a holiday weekend but I cleared all day tomorrow for install and am bummed. Might try it without instructions since some things are obvious. Good luck to all!

Yeah, I thought we might have got the instructions but i guess being the Easter holiday an all we can't ask for everything, I’m just glad i have the kit. I had Coffee and Cars this morning with all my MINIacs and was arranging it all and then a MINI lunch with the rest of the club son haven’t really done anything but remove the seats and door panels and look at all the parts. Going to try and do a little tomorrow in between Easter family visits…..lol

Let me know how it goes. I spoke to Kevin yesterday and he cautioned me not to install without the directions. He is working as quickly as possible to get them completed. I was going to try but this is nothing like the sub only install. Amp in my car goes under passenger seat and wires route differently plus I have to swap out the a pillars for new ones with tweeters. I was pretty upset about it and he actually called me. Feel a bit like an *** and sending him an email thanking him for his efforts and apologizing. Another few days won't kill me but I have been working so much lately that time is hard to block out for selfish endeavors. Please take pics if you proceed!

Kevin told me the same thing, DO NOT start without instructions so all I’ve done it take the seats, door panels and pillars out and getting it ready for when he sends the instructions. I don’t drive it during the week so it can sit. This is a link to Flickr that I started with me install pix so far. He told me to just start with the simple stuff like taking the car apart…..lol, I want to take my time with this and with this being the Easter weekend it was ok since I too was busy with family stuff.

Stu,
Thanks for uploading the pics. I am going to start my install on Wednesday and hope to have instructions by then. I will probably start taking it apart as you have and drive my other car. Can't wait to hear it all set up.
