Please help me connect my iphone

I'm new to this, just got my mini yesterday. It is a 2006 S with the JCW package and the HK audio system. I assuming there is no aux input or USB, although I have the R/T button on the steering wheel. I have been researching for a way to connect my iphone/ipod and cant seem to be able to nail anything down.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

PS I assuming bluetooth would be out of the question?

There is an auxiliary input that you can purchase for the Mini. Apparently the stock radio comes with the connection but you need to buy the wire that plugs in. I purchased mine from WMW: http://waymotorworks.com/auxiliary-i...0-r52-r53.html

There are install guides posted here that involve taking the radio out, but you can reach it by popping the plastic under the steering wheel down and feeling for the connection through there (you kind of have to do it blind though).

If you want the steering controls you have to get something like the Dice unit, which is more expensive.

FWIW I have the DICE unit and it's been flawless. It's nice because it will charge the phone as well.

Can anyone confirm that this dice unit from Way will work for iPhone 4s?

I have an iphone 4S and installed the DICE unit and it works flawlessly. There are a few things that are kind of funky, which are all related ton the function of the DICE unit and not to the 4S. If the compatibility of the phone was your only holdup, I would go for it. You will get Bluetooth, AUX, USB, Sirius and steering wheel controls

That I am not sure. The one I bought AMBR-1500-BMW connects through the CD changer plug in the back. If you go to DICE website, they have compatibility charts. If you don't have the CD changer plug, then I don't know. You can also call their tech support, they are here in the LA area and I am sure they will tell you. I would definitely make sure before I plunked down $200+. I got mine for $206 from Amazon when everyone else wanted over $250

Good luck

It works in conjunction with the Mini's factory sound system and steering wheel controls. The H/K radio contains DSP functions for what it is worth. I am not sure if the DSP provides any of the functions that mediabridge does. I assumed the original question concerned the mediabridge and a 4S. Maybe I'm wrong

So I found this:

Amazon Amazon

But apparently it is complete garbage. It's a shame as its half the cost of the mediabridge mentioned earlier.

I am not sure what it does. I needed a way to add bluetooth, BT audio and USB and the mediabridge does all fine. The good side is I think the mediabridge is half the price of the factory unit?
