just installed aftermarket deck and now static??
i just upgraded to a JVC kd-apd38 cd player. before i installed it, the factory cd player would play perfect with ZERO static at all, and now with the jvc i get static even at very low volume. and i have to keep the low, mid, and hi settings all the way down. any ideas on what is wrong? i dont think i have H/K since there wasnt an option for it in the settings on my factory cd player.
You'd know if you had the H/K as the door speakers would be labeled for it.
It sounds more like you have a shoddy connection between the decks wiring harness and the factories one. Did you use a reverse wiring harness or splice the wires? Did you solder them like you should have, or just twisted them together? Is the static coming from one or all the speakers?

static is coming from all of them. i soldered them as i always do. and i used a Metra harness adapter like i always do. this is the first time ive run into this problem. ill tear it out. maybe its a loose connection at the adapter?
yea, thats why im confused. ive installed lots of decks and i race hobby rc cars, i know my way around a soldering iron haha. and yes, it does it when playing a CD. also confusing. ive tried 3 different cds from burnt to unburnt. and new and old. nothing changes. plays great at very low volume, then once its turned up past 10 it starts to get static and then gets worse
My initial suspsissions were a shoddy connection but you've soldered those. My next culpriate was going to be an antenna issue, but it happens when playing CD's. I'm beginning to suspect the source unit my be causing the problem.
well, ive rechecked all my connections, re-shrinked em. and cleaned the connectors. made sure it was a solid connection, and it is. still getting the static. plays great for like 30 seconds, then straight to static and doesnt go away. im thinking the deck is the problem, might try another to rule that out
