Bluetooth Stopped Working

I know this is probably covered somewhere, but search on this site wasn't helpful. (If someone wants to give me tips on better searches, Im your huckleberry)
Last night, bluetooth worked fine, just as it has for the nearly two months Ive had the car. This morning, nada. Phone shows as paired, the phone is listed on the Connected screen as a paired phone, but nothing happens. Tried to have them seek each other out again, no luck.
My phone is an HTC Android, and my car has Mini Connect w/ NAV if that matters.
Anyone know something else I can try on my own and save another trip to the dealer this week?

You say you tried to have them seek each other out again, does that mean you deleted the pairing. If not delete the pairing on the phone and the car and try pairing them again. I had to do that with my BB a few times when BB did software updates to the phone. I have not had to repair with my Droid X and have gone thru at least 4 software upgrades since i got it.

As for search on this site yes it is not the greatest. I usually use google advanced search and search only this site.

I agree with Schatzy62, I have had to delete and pair my phone several times with the bluetooth system in my 2012. It shows paired but won't work so delete the car from phone and phone from car and then search and it will pair and work.

Not sure why BMW/MINI have such a poor system in these cars. My Ford F350 Dually has FOrd Sync and it works like a dream

Thanks guys, that did the trick! I'm pretty sure my phone updated itself the past few days, so maybe that's what triggered it. Before, I was just disconnecting the pairing rather than all out deleting it.

mine does this every now and then too (Galaxy S2). when it happens, i turn the phone off then on and it reconnects. i think the issue is with Android and not the MINI.

The issue can be on both ends and really does not matter if it is an Android, iPhone, or other if the firmware in the phone is changed sometimes the MINI has trouble with the changes to the Bluetooth Stack and thus does not work. But deleting the pairing and re-establishing it is the answer.

i agree with you. however, sometimes my android phone will not reconnect to MINI even without a firmware update. in this case, a soft reset solves the problem. this is the same with the bluetooth connection to my computer from my phone. i believe my specific issue is with the android device and the wonky bluetooth software. if that doesn't work, then yes, the issue is likely on both ends failing to complete the handshake, in which case deleting and re-establishing is the answer.

you may need to delete the pairing and re do it a few times to get it to work. That is my best guess at this point as a Droid 1 should work great.

Did that. Read some history and took the battery out and re-booted. That fixed it. Crazy tech stuff....
