Radio Won't Turn Off / Bluetooth Issues
2011 Clubman S - Harmon Kardon system w/ Bluetooth & iPod Adapter (nothing plugged in at the time)
So, turn the car off and the radio stays on after removing the key. Pushing the stereo power button turns the radio display off, but sound stays on. Tried opening the door, etc. Nothing, still on.
Pulled the iPod adapter cable out and the radio, on its own, eventually turned off.
Then, this morning, synched the BlackBerry to the Bluetooth (like normal, worked fine in the past) and no sound, but caller on other end could hear me. I couldn't hear them, phone said it was connected to Bluetooth.
Any ideas?

In my case, it was just like yours - the caller could hear me but I couldn't hear them over the bluetooth. After some investigation I found that for some reason, my phone had not switched its audio output to bluetooth automatically like it usually does and it was still set to "handset". I had to manually select "bluetooth" on the phone's settings and then it worked. Mine's an iphone so it might work a little differently than yours but next time that happens, see if your phone has an option to select the audio/output source and make sure it's set to bluetooth and not something else.

Okay i know on 2007 - 2010 car if you press the button to shut the car down and then remove the key the radio etc goes off. I would think it should be the same for the 2011.
Something to try though would be press the button once to shut down the engine and then press it again. see if that works. the second press is like turning the key to the off position.

Works the same way on the 2011s.

Try pulling the fuse for the radio/phone and then immediately reinstalling it. I've had to do this once or twice in the last few years to "reset" the radio when there have been similar issues. Every now and then, it loses it's mind and goes a little whacky....I kind of compare it to a computer that hasn't been restarted in a while....it starts to freeze and become buggy.
I also think this sort of thing happens when there are voltage drops at the battery....that may be more common this time of year when it's cold outside (assuming you are in North America) and harder starts may cause this from time to time. That's just my theory. There seem to be several of these posts lately...hence my theory. Give that a try first. If not, I'd take it into the dealer....seeing as it's a 2012 I assume you still have warranty left.

1. Car running - radio plays
2. press stop/start button - engine turns off car is in accessory mode so radio keeps playing.
3. press stop/start button a second time - accessory mode off an radio should go off.
I.E. get in the car and quick press accessory position on. Car can not be push started (manual trans only for push starting) as the engine electronics are off. second quick press and now engine electronics are on and if you need to (manual trans only) the car can be pushed an the clutch released to start the engine.
Although this is not really recommended my MINI.
