Kuda Mount for '04 MINI Cooper. Need advice!

Hey guys,

It's my first time posting on the forums (even though I've been a MINI owner for years). Anyway, I had a question about the Kuda Mount for Garmin Nuvi. See I just bought the new Garmin Nuvi 2460 LMT. It's really nice and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a Garmin GPS . Anyway, I bought the traction mount for it but it doesn't really conform to the top of the dashboard like I want it to. So I started looking around for a new mount and saw the Kuda mount on these forums. They're especially nice and exactly what I'm looking for. But I'm new to adding things like this to my car.

I just want someone to confirm that I have the right part numbers for my vehicle and GPS.

Obviously I'm getting the Kuda mounting base:

http://www.kudausa.com/kuda_mount_an...06-34-314.html

But I'm not sure which add-on is correct:
The Garmin Nuvi Mount/Adapter/Holder with AMPS template
HA-CNM-21
http://www.kudausa.com/garmin_nuvi_m...late-1240.html

OR

The Garmin Nuvi Mount/Adapter/Holder with trim ring
HA-CNM-22
http://www.kudausa.com/garmin_nuvi_m...ring-1228.html

Can anybody with the Kuda mount help me out here? If there's anything else I should be aware of before I buy, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!

Probably want to put this in the Gen 1 forum rather than Gen 2.

Better yet check out the CravenSpeed stuff. Better placement and a MINI vendor to boot.

I did take a look at that one initially but I'm not really interested in it. I like the look of the Kuda mount and where it's at. I used to have my GPS right above my speedometer and it was nice having it sit there. But I can't do that anymore, so I'm looking for a similar solution and I believe Kuda will do just that.

Kuda mount

What you want is the second listing .The one with the trim ring. A friend and I installed these mounts in my 05S and his 04S and are quite satisfied with the results. Make sure that the dash is warm and that you use plastic wedges to raise the lip of the defrost vent. Install is pretty straight forward.-Good luck!!!

Thanks Blugoose!

Is it difficult to raise the lip of the defrost vent without damaging it?

Hope you end up liking it.......everyone I know personally ended up with the craven cause the Kuda looks like a bad aftermarket mount glued to the dash.
