Navigation & Audio HK still having door rattle issues on 04's?
I got my car 10/28/04 and developed the rattle about
a week later. It's not terrible and not ALL the time but
it's annoying when your car is only 2-3 weeks old and
should still be pristine! I've found myself turning the bass
down a bit to avoid it...

I have a early 04 (built on 9/4/2003) and I had the HK rattle within a week of taking delivery.
After searching on the web and learned the fix, I stuffed a strip of cardboard between the door panel and the door. Still rattle free after a month and a half.
My right side tweeter cover is also popping out; I can't get it to snap back in.... So much for HK quality......

KatanaPilot,
SInce it will be a while before I am back at the dealer, I would like to do what you did. Did you just cut a small strip and wedge it in from the passenger compartment? Or did you take the door panel off and do it from the back?

If you lightly tap your passenger side lower HK speaker cover, does it make a similar rattling sound?
(you might have to tap harder, just don't break it.)
When you tap it, you could also feel the bottom part of that panel vibrate. Now go to the bottom of the panel, and try to see if your panel moves a bit. If it does, then you have the exact same problem I had.
I cut a strip of cardboard about 1 foot long, less than half an inch wide. I was able to push the strip of cardboard from underneath, between the panel and the metal part of the door.
Total time: about 30 seconds.
And I didn't come up with this; I found it on either here or mini2. Thank you to whoever discovered this first!
